Detectors for Ole' Cal to test?
March 02, 2019 02:26PM
I would like to see Him test a Troy X5, Nautilus IIBa, and a Fisher 1266. Mostly on raw depth.

The problem is, he'll get these machines in hand to test and then people will bitch about how he does it....he wasn't holding it just right, the shovel was too close, it was a full moon, the dirt's too tame, you didn't have your settings right, you went too fast, too slow, you don't have enough experience, I can tell by pinpointing if it's a coin, wha wha wha....

The poor guy can't win LMAO!

Yep . +1.

Why don't the guys that have so many issues with the way CD does it do their own video and prove CD wrong?

You forgot the most important and relevant objection: "Ole Cal refused to compare with different machines over flagged target tests" And called that a "waste of time" haha

Your talking about the wrong Cal spinning smiley sticking its tongue out

Cal_Cobra vs Calabash Digger..... my detecting time is so precious these days, I simply don't have the time to waste on comparison vids, but if you're lucky Tom, I might let you compare a signal or two on my Equinox drinking smiley

I agree with this Brian,

I think it would be a much better test for Harold to use a little winter down time to grab his Tom tuned CZ-3D and Ireland manufactured Etrac and take a road trip to Calabash's place. They can head out to one of Calabashes secret button sites for a full day of hunting.

Next, Calabash can take a trip North with his two favorite button hunters; the Deus and EQ800 for a day out with Harold at a Chicago Park and have a full day of hunting deep silver and old copper.

Then I want to see the pair of them at the waffle house having a meal together, laughing over a day of hard hunting and comparing finds and hear Calabash say, "GoPro stop recording."

That's the comparison I want to see.

Cal knows and loves the XP Deus.......how unbiased would the tests be comparing it to an unfamiliar machine ?? Let's save time, fast forward....Deus wins. I think its aesome when someone can really get in tune with a certain model metal detector and excel. It doesnt have to be the newest or most expensive thing going either. Heck the 2009 Deus aint no spring chicken.

Aaahh, ok, now I figured out "Cal" vs "Cal". Got it.

Ok, I hope I'm lucky and we can compare some flagged tests over targets. C'mon man, plan some more of those "pressing business trips" haha

Yep that would be awesome!!

How about it Harold, this would be the ultimate test, ahem, show down?

Calabash would likely get a zillion YouTube hits and once and for all we'd see these machines pitted against each other by expert users without compromise, no more excuses and I bet you two would have a great time!

Seriously though, I think a Gold Century 1023 would do good in Ole Cals test garden

He has a knack of telling it the way it is_some may find this an unusual approach given the
way the media operates these days, however there are still some of us that enjoy simply fact from fiction
and can make an informed decision from "Ole Cals" videos -

I guess You never heard of a Troy X5. Its a very formidable Detector and even a favorite of Keith Southern. That should tell You something rite there.

As a former Troy X5 as well as a former Nautilus DMC IIBa user, the depth test in my soil would go to the X5. Now add a rusty nail to the equation and all bets are off!
After all being said and done, it’s all good!

Nautilus IIBa would get the nod on low conductors in My ground, But Troy X5 on high conducters. They were a unique detector. Would have been nice to see Him come out with a ID machine but it was not to be. I never owned a 1266 but heard tales of its raw depth.

Some of my most productive sites have been 12 to 14 inches of black, organic dirt that has built up for a couple hundred years.
The good stuff is in sand that is below that black dirt. The X5 could get down in that deeper sand where the colonial stuff resides.
If there was a nail between the surface and the good target all bets were off,
