So you saw this doctor when it arrived geo? If my distributor so says it was new then I believe it was new. So yes I am backing my distributor.
So you saw it when it arrived?

I purchased a set of new headphones from North Georgia Relics a few years back and they stunk so bad of cigarette smoke
that I swore never to order from them again. I washed them and had to do the plastic bag febreeze trick.

Georgia Relics has been mentioned a few times on this thread, this is not where I get my products.

I know I just didn't want anyone to this that they had anything to do with the detector in question.

I am done with this thread, I am happy to deal with any of you but if you rather not no problem.
Sorry, I did not intentionally post these two posts.

Got an update.

Factory confirmed yesterday that I have a new detector.. The two serial number stickers are normal. So the condition of the detector, packaging and packout is from the distributor messing with it.

Regards the missing headphone charging cable, I had spoke with the Nokta/Makro Repair Center guy as directed by the dealer I bought from, Sent him the required email and pictures, then called him again last Friday. A package was waiting for me in my mail box after work last night. .From the Repair Center.....did I get my headphone charging cable?

Nope. They sent me an Impact update cable.
.
.
.

I decided to just go buy the damn headphone charging cable. Probably won't cost anymore than shipping the wrong one back and trying again.

Buy a new detector, can't tell if its new, and then have to go buy the missing part needed to use it after a three weekend wait.....

Buyer beware is all I can say at this point.

Mike

A pity that: shouldn't happen, not with New purchases. Shoddy on someone's behalf?

From where I'm standing it wouldn't surprise me if you don't really gel with that detector after the BS hassle?
I would've emailed Miss Dilek @ Nokta and cut out all this middleman BS.....she takes good care of their customers thumbs down

Good point Bryan.----That's what I did, she took good care of me (replaced) defective wireless h.p.'s & 5" small coil.--------Del
As a dealer I would of just taken care of this issue my self and had the part 1 day mailed.

Can't anymore than offer, he told me that he would contact/call the place that I sent him to take care of the issue. Oops looks like I am not only a bad dealer I also don't keep my word as I said that I was done with this thread.

Cal_cobra is right. She would have all this straightened out in no time. She is top of the line and cares about every customer. She still can help you if you just shoot her a mail. If you want her email send me a PM.

The obvious choice_especially when US distributors are fingering the goods

Just curious - who is the NZ distributor/agent of NOKTA/Makro. They usually choose well.

A while back (several years now) there was a big rash of customers receiving detectors that had missing components, and or non working units. Some dealers and some distributors began taking counter measures to this by opening the boxes before shipping to the final destination of the customer to make sure everything was in there and that the unit worked. I actually appreciated this, because as you have experienced, there are few bigger let downs than getting a brand new item and it being defective out of the box, or having missing components that keep you from using it. They have kinda gotten away from that.

The last CTX 3030 that I bought new, came drop shipped from the distributor. It arrived with a frozen locked up screen. I called the dealer I bought it from. He basically said "sorry...but there's nothing I can do for you...you can call the factory since it is under warranty and they should be able to help". That left the whole thing in my hands. My exact thought was "why in the ^%&@ do I even need a dealer if I'm the one doing all the leg work". I was glad that they aren't the only Minelab dealer in the US and have spent a great deal of $ else where since then.
I don't care who it is I would of returned it.
Sounds like a REFURB unit to me.

Isn't it illegal to sell a refurbished unit as a new one?----Just a question.----I'm not saying this is a refurbished unit---but---I was of the understanding that it had to be stated if it was (refurbished).

Thanks for the tip RC- I looked it up - no dealers/agents in Oz or NZ.

No problems thumbs down

I just gotta tell you how this thing is playing out......Its totally unbelievable.

I went to Walmart and bought the missing USB cable for the headphones that came with my "new" Gold Kruzer. So I'm looking at the cable the Repair Center sent me and wondering what to do with it.

Then yesterday I'm re-reading Steve's Gold Kruzer report, in which he includes pictures....one of the pictures is of the headphones and guess what? The cable the repair shop sent me matches the headphones in Steve's picture.

The headphones sent with my "new in box" Gold Kruzer don't even come with the Gold Kruzer package. No wonder I couldn't use the cable. The cable sent to me fits the Gold Kruzer headphones and the "new" Gold Kruzer I got didn't come with Gold Kruzer headphones.

I guess at this point I should just consider myself lucky to even have gotten headphones and that Walmart had the cable and that the headphones work..

To all parties involved in this fiasco... The Lord judge between you and I.

Mike

PS. I changed the Tittle to the thread.
