Looks still occupied. I check bankrupcy court records, noting for Tesoro electronics or Vince Gifford.

Sad of course, but business failure i usually messy. I feel sorry for folks whose detectors are in the shop. Some of the boxes in the video look like they might be customer units. Th BBB in Prescott rates Tesoro as “F” and lists a long list of customer complaints of detectors sent in and not returned.

Asking price for the premesis is $1.4 million. I was struck by how small and how messy it is.

Surely this isnt the state its in for the sale. Building and contents? It looks like its still full of detectors and cases of parts for constructing new ones.

I suspect it is offered with only installed equipment like A/C’s etc. It could take a good while to sell and where would Vince put all that junk. Plus he would likely want to sell it as a going concern, but good luck with that.

I know a guy who made a pile of money in CA by posing as someone wanting to rent industrial storage space - getting shown all these old warehouses and such. Then he would contact the owners about buying the now useless (to them) contents for pennies.

It's a nice building in a beautiful part of town. Prescott is booming thanks to all of the escapee's from California. Not surprised at the price tag. Next time I go by there I'll see if I can peek in the windows and see what's there.

I have contacted a realtor for more info - I also sent a “news tip” to the local paper and asked if they are interested in finding out what the status of this long-time local business is.

I am very unimpressed with how Vince Gifford is handling what is admittedly a difficult situation.

Just pulled up the MLS listing. On market since 5 April - here’s a quote...”Business is still being conducted, 24 hour notice for all appointments. Tenant will be vacating by close of escrow.”

Funny you mention that, but if all the damn people would stay the hell out of California to begin with, we wouldn't have to escape angry smiley

If it wasn't for the massive influx of emigrants and whatnot into California, and all the "great" things that go along with that, like massive housing prices, horrible traffic and just having to deal with tolerating all these weird customs and all that they bring with them that we're expected to embrace, we'd be content to stay here. Sad, but all this emigration into the state over the past 40-50 years has completely changed the landscape of California, it's not the same state I grew up in thumbs up

Wyoming.....North Dokota and a few other states have plenty of open roads. Well until it snows anyways. This country has plenty to choose from. People in the north move south. East moves west. Red becomes blue, and vise versa.

As far as Tesoro. That hand was dealt a few years ago.

Brian,
Eight out of ten new patients to our practice are from California. Every one of them feels as you do. We used to go to San Francisco every other month for a seminar. We stopped going there a couple of years ago for safety reasons. Now we all go to Tampa. You couldn't pay me enough to live in California. Just going to get worse with your new governor. Good luck!

Dean it's a real shame, California is a beautiful state, but the people running it have been running it into the ground and using it as an ATM for so long, it's hard to say what it'll be like in the future, but yeah I agree, it's definitely not going in a good direction. If all of my family and most of my friends weren't out here, I'd probably move to Oregon or Washington.

Went by there yesterday as I only live about 5 miles from there and everything is still in the building. Looked in the back door and there were several detectors propped up against a wall with some of them being 80s models as I could tell by the case.

We are neighbors.

Hello Dean. We should get together and go detecting.
Re: TESORO now selling out, they are done.

I've been at the Tesoro plant several times over the years.-----Seems to be a small building.
Re: TESORO now selling out, they are done.
May 20, 2019 10:07PM
It says 11,000 sq feet total on 2 floors. But overall its not as big as one would think. On Prescott GIS the tax value of the building and land is $597,000 and they are asking $1.4 million. Going to keep an eye out and see if they end up auctioning off the detectors and other items they have inside.

Rusty's a good man.---He's retired though--perhaps he will become "semi-retired" & repair Tesoros (at least while parts are available)---maybe even sell a few.--------This is speculation of course.
Re: TESORO now selling out, they are done.
May 22, 2019 06:35PM
I don't know about parts or repairs, but Rusty did say that he bought up a bunch of Lobo SuperTraq detectors and some other detectors from the warehouse. Wegund and I are thinking about meeting up with Rusty this Fall to do some detecting for gold. Here's Rusty's Cell number if you're looking for a particular Tesoro detector or parts. 928-899-0362

Assessment value and market value are not closely related. Assessment values are the result of a political/administrative process - market value is whatever a buyer and seller agree upon.
