The yellow is sign vinyl that's coming off. Helps to see it in the water. Left the bottom brace to give the coil a balanced look for now.

Rick do you water hunt? Notice any weight change? I assume you cut the cover as well? I said I was going to do that some time back to make it more like the Xcal coil in the water....people thought I was nuts lol.

Haven't tried it yet. I don't use a cover. I'll try it in the water Thur or Fri. The 2 braces weigh 13.37 grams. I decided I'm going to remove the bottom one too.

So it removed some weight and should remove some pressure as you sweep in the water.

I don't see any problem doing this.

Removed most of the yellow vinyl which weighed 0.92 grams.

Here's the final one. Should go thru the water better. Took 22.5 grams off the coil.

I didn’t really see an issue either....well except warranty lol. Seemed like a better design for water

Rick...…… keep an eye on ….. if the unit seems to be a bit more 'chatty'...… just like increased EMI. . . . . . especially whilst sweeping coil through the water.

I would think that loose cable might cause some noise.

I’m sure he tape/ties that cable as low as he can at the bottom which stops most movement and coil vibration

Rick

Next time we get together I'd like to try that out after using mine for a while to see the difference.

Looks nice!
