PI coils with built in magnetic sensors?

I was snooping around the Detech website and came across this paragraph,

"Detech is the first to build coils with magnetic sensors, enabling pulse induction detectors to discriminate between ferrous and non-ferrous metals."

Is this the secret of the Impulse?
