On the Garrett website.They said they would not spend money on a fancy pre-release production. They got that right.

They compare it to the Ace

DeepTech Vista X with 3 search coils.

All we know is it's light and has "new technology". It's telling that they compared it to the Ace 250 and not the AT series. Either they don't want to kill AT sales at this point or it's not up to AT performance.

Waiting for the first Vanquish vs Apex shoot out.

Perhaps the connection with the ACE is simply that it is a land machine.

Title of the video "Ascend to the Apex" and the video itself implies this will be 'upmarket' from the ACE in performance (and likely price).

Clues:
New Technology
Light
Doesn't need batteries - i.e. rechargeable

If 'new technology' is significant, then later could be added to AT series ... sort of opposite of Minelab's Equinox/Vanquish product introduction strategy.
The big reveal will be what they mean by 'New Technology'?

VIdeo is doing exactly what is intended ... getting interest and discussion going.

Used to love my AT Pro. I'm still pissed over the AT Max. I thought it was going to be the new tech and design. That stunt caused me to buy an Equinox and a Deus.

Be cool if they came out with a kick ass top of the line detector. Ten years ago I would of thought they would have been the last of the Big 3 American made companies to still be relevant at this point.

was never particularly enthralled with garrett,but have to admit that they
have "sratched a lot of itches" over the past 10 years or so. one would have
a tendency to believe a "multi-freak" is on the way to compete. it won't be long now!

Entry level Detectors are The Bread & butter & big Profits for all The Manufacturers. Garrett’s Ace series was so much in Demand, Garrett had to build a 2nd Factory wing & run 24/7 a day .

With the Vanquished now a big competitor to the Ace, Garrett had to do something.

I heard one plus..it has a iron volume control. That right there will more than likely make it outperform the AT series. Will have to wait and see ....Looks like the entry level battle is on to me..

Fact is that if it is targeted for entry/mid market it WILL have to supersede both the Minelab Vanquish / Nokta-Makro Simplex's offerings otherwise they are urinating into the wind -

I doubt very much that they can without charging an arm and a leg for the pleasure of owning one -

Between the Nox and simplex it must be killing them.
So they acted.
About time.

Believe it or not, just the looks of a detector can boost sales. Don’t even have to be that good in the field performance wise.
Lot of folks don’t know the difference anyways.
As long as they find stuff occasionally.

They don’t know what they don’t know.

Too early to say but in that screen grab, I don't see a coil cable. To me, that possibly means a wireless coil or the cable runs up through the shaft. We'll know for sure in May.

New technology to Garrett could simply be a rechargeable battery and adjustable iron audio in a 21st century form factor.

Would love to see something truly new and innovative from them, but I suspect it'll simply be more variations on their existing theme.
