Minelab Vanquish 540 is filling my finds pouch!!

This has got to be one of the funnest machines I've ever used. I'm finding tons of coins and buttons with it. I have been working sites I've hammered with a variety of other machines new and old. The Vanquish is finding stuff at great depths with excellent target seperation. I found a war nickel last week at around 8" with the V8 coil and yesterday I found a no date Buffalo at around 7". I also have found a few pieces of jewelry with it. I know it looks like a kids detector but this dog will hunt with the big dogs. I actually like it so much that I took the batteries out of my other detectors because I don't see them getting used anytime soon. I have all 3 coils so it pretty well covers all of my detecting wants or needs. The V8 is so far my favorite coil. I used the V10 last weekend and pulled a Civil War 3 ringer at about 6" and it rang up 19 on the VDI and it sounded like it was on top of the ground. The Depth meter on this machine is very accurate and the 5 tone audio is very good. So if any of you guys are on the fence about getting one I don't think you will regret purchasing one. How mineralized is your soil?
I always loved the 8" coils I think they are the perfect size (CZ Series).
You also got to love an accurate depth meter.

Where can I purchase a V10 coil?

Del any Minelab dealer can get you one. My soul ranges from 2-4 bar dirt on minerals. The pinpointing is as easy as pinpointing with a CZ.

Morgan----It's my understanding that the V10's (and even the V8's) are on back order when purchased singly.----With the V8's only being available at this time through the purchase of the Vanquish Pro Pack.------Del

Well I guess I was one of the lucky ones that were on the list to get one Del. Hopefully they will get more in stock soon.

...Found my 1st hammered silver today with the 540...and tiny...Hip Hip Hooray...!!!

Nice write up Morgan. If you don’t mind me asking what settings are you using, mode, etc.

Bill I use a custom program I created off of the relic mode. Pretty well notch in 11-14 then 19 & up. It seems to be working great for me and has a ton of depth.

The more I read about the Vanquish the better I think it will be. I have the 440, but can't go to a park yet, hope they will be open in a week or two. Keep the posts coming, so I can something to read. Thanks flintstone
