One thing about it us older dudes saw the best this country had to offer IMO. The 70s was the last great decade. The country went to crap after that and also best music to, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Aerosmith,
Led Zeppelin, AC/DC with Bon Scott,
Ted Nugent, etc. I saw them all to back then. Man what a time it was fun, music, and no Virus crap.

Y' all are making me feel old for being 59. I started in 1975-ish, as a pimple-faced 14-ish yr. old. Yes, life is short.

So do-tell Tex-kinzee: What machine did you first swing in 1969 ? What got you into it ? What type places did you hunt back then ? What were the machine's capabilities ? What did you find ?

Tom,
I started with a Metrotech 220 A in Washington D.C. parks. Found a ton of silver coins and several gold rings along with civil war relics. Not as much trash to deal with back in the day. It turned on when you plugged in the headphone. 4" max depth.
