I show the tonal nuance at the end of the live dig that led to the silver dime at 10 inches.[i.postimg.cc]

Nice one Calabash.
Congrats.
Two seated in one day is pretty good.

Wish you would have tried sweeping undisturbed using prospecting 1 mode. To see how strong the signal was.

Thanks for sharing.

Edge of detection for me shows up on the target ID as [ - - ] two dashes. Have to go by the audio here.

Nice find.

(--) and two way tone is what led me to dig. I have chased those before with success.

Very nice! I've dug those signals a couple times. A small silver pendant very deep was 1, and the other was an Indian at 10" or so and both still had the iron signal in hole after the good target was dug. Congratulations

Yes but it still did not I.D. it at that depth like a Etrac would.

I would love to see a live dig of someone using a ETRAC and it showing a correct ID on a dime at around 11 inches with iron around the hole.

I have dug barber dimes that deep with a nail in the hole. Most long time
Etrac ,Explorer users have I figured? It will null some but you will get a 42-44 conductive or I have at least.

I done it with CZ-3D too. You hunt long enough with a deep enough detector it will happen. I bet Tom from Cali had done it with his Explorer II.

Nice digging. Great find. But I’m kinda thinking that coin may have been in the last one or two scoops of sidewall dirt and maybe not at the very bottom of the 10” hole. Could be wrong, just my thoughts

A few things about the side wall theory Bill....First if you look closely at the last shovel of dirt and where it landed the coin was in it. Second if the coin was any shallower than 10 inches the Equinox would have hammered it no problem in my soil.

Third I know the Equinox very well and the dime was in the center of the hole at the bottom. How do you think I use that big ole shovel like I do and not hit my finds?
I moved the shovel to the side a little so I would not stab the TARGET sitting in the center of the hole.

I dont need the pinpoint to tell you where the target is . I can tell you with the coil itself.

This is not my first time digging deep signals like that one with the Equinox....

Good find CD, congrats. I have a question tho. I've watched your test bed videos and you have the equinox smacking 12 to 14 inch burried coins in both directions. Why do you think it struggled on that 10 inch coin?

(SOIL) Ok first off it was giving a two way signal. Iron was close by... Test garden has clean holes...if you look at the pin pointer the dime was between 10 and 11 inches...
Also I was 70 miles from my house and ground is not as friendly as the soil in my yard.

If you guys were not impressed with that dig well I will never be able to impress you guys.

That was one of the best digs I have ever made.

If the Equinox didnt impress you on that find it never will either.

Cal, don't listen to the negative nannies. I normally don't watch your videos but I watched this one. Very exciting find. As you know every piece of dirt is different. What sounds good in your yard may not sound so good elsewhere.

Even though I only have the 600, it would be interesting to find out your settings.

Thank you.
