Yep, Garrett is the top selling brand so they got the money and know how to put out a great detector. I hope that it's a good one at a great price!

My guess entry level detector.Hope I am wrong! How long has it been since Garret released a NEW detector? Now counting the AT MAX rehash flop and ACE series rehash.

Whatever Garrett is doing, it's the right thing. They are number one in sales. If I were in the metal detecting business, I'd want to be them.

I agree entry level market is where the money is.Seems like Minelab caters to the more experienced users. I am glad someone does!

They proably just sold out their first (and last) run of the AT Max. Seems like since Charles Garrett died the company ain't the same. I can't imagine they can come up with something that can compete with the XP ORX.

Back in the day I used Garrett detectors Big green metal boxes heavy as hell not very deep and then Fisher came out with the CZ series detectors and it was on.
Nothing was as deep as the CZ's detectors until Minelab came out with the Explorer series detectors years later.
Both series detectors was dual frequency units
When we went hunting everyone had their hand trowels
We was carrying shovels and needed them.

Garrett goofed and dropped the video early. I managed to speed through the first 14 minutes before they cut it off. Nothing interesting besides saying it had multi-frequency technology, they had their own cute buzz word for it. But they didn't say if it was true multi-freq or selectable single frequency. Then they reset the video and now have to wait to get to the specs. The first 12 minutes is hot garbage marketing, they barely even touch on the multi-freq when they show the detector focusing more on the head design and integrated battery.

Watched a Y Tube video on it from Garrett.

Hoping to eventually beach hunt again someday I was disappointed in it not being submersible. Oh well. These entry level new models all seem to stop short of that. So the beach hunters are still left with limited choices.

Would be nice of the 2500 is waterproof to over 10FT and has a sound for every number with a way to select 5 and 3 tone.

Really curious to see how it does on the beach and compares to the nox. The website seems to focus mostly on land hunting and doesn't provide a lot of detail.

I find it hard to call it a beach machine and it not be salt waterproof. It’s going to have to be impressive to unseat the Nox for beach hunting. It’s more ... it can also be used on the beach if you go occasionally. Anyone catch the warranty? Now how will they use this tech to produce a top of the detector?

I would have to say it is targeting the VANQUISH series the NOX has to much more to offer than the APEX does.

Lol GM ... so many machines out there now I don’t know what the target is. It seems more about replacing their own line now days. Right now seems like a bad time to introduce a new detector unless you want a hand full of people to test and let sales raise in the long hall

I dunno...looks okay to me. Looks like a stiff competitor to the Vanquish. Is this Garrett's first simultaneous multi freq machine? Glad to see them break into that arena. I like the big display too. That was something that I thought sucked on the At Series. I'll let you guys be the first to buy one and give it a run. I got too many fish to be catching!

No adjustable reactivity setting?----Didn't sound like it hit that coin in the trash test but that guy was doing so much talking when he swung over it you couldn't hear whether it did or not.

The price is to close to the Equinox 600 I would choose the 600 over the APEX with headphones.
The APEX would have to be one great performer to change my mind.
