Dew, I am located in CT and also in Jupiter. In FL I use a Nox 600 which I leave there and the Excal is in CT with my Dual Field and Nox 800. The environment in FL easily adds a few inches on targets compared to CT. When I owned the MDT, out of the water on wet sand was very difficult to balance on one of my favorite beaches. The MDT would sound off even after ground and salt water balancing (In the water deeper then 2 ft the MDT ran beautiful at a sensitivity of 8). Every time I transitioned from water to wet sand I had to adjust it. Wet sand I could only get it to seven on the sensitivity. VDI was jumpy and it had me stopping often to verify a good target versus a false. The Nox allows me to dig twice as many targets (I general dig it all) in a hunt and I would know when I had a coin or gold ring. My depth was about the same at this beach using both detectors. The Nox I run at sensitivity of 24 in Beach mode 2.

With Covid this summer, the beaches are limited and so are the shallow targets. The AQ will be finding medium to deep targets. I can't wait to get it. Most deep targets here are not garbage.

Charles... I run AM full sensitivity and threshold. Then like the Xcal reverse disc. Like the Xcal tuning it down so you get minimum falsing loses depth. Nox we hunt about the same. Yes the VLFs get a bit of a boost here. I thought you had a condo or lived down here.

But in a lot of situations you can be pretty accurate with a pulse. Its all judgement calls as to the effort / potential ratio. The DF is one of the best for this--really gives you a lot of information on your targets. Where you have 99.9 spikes though--just not worth it. cjc

I see there have been changes to the solo dealership of the Impulse AQ Limited and that it can now be obtained directly from FT.
I shall make another attempt to purchase one and hope there will be a better experience and outcome this time. :-)

Looks like someone are speculating/guessing on where this parcel is to be delivered. . . . No need to.
The delivery person know, if all go well it'll be here by Thursday. :-)
How are you going Tony ?

Not sure what the big deal is now. It seems those on the list got theirs or turned them down. Also, surely Fisher has the information they needed from those testers. I assume you bought because of price?

Rick, there is no need to be loud or complaining.

All it took was integrity and patience.

A Fisher Impulse AQ have now arrived in the country of intended destination.

Some do not see it as a big deal, to me it is.

After 40+ years of beach and water detecting with many VLF and PI detectors, I have a keen interest in PI development for this purpose.

My still in use (slightly aged) Fisher Impulse, now have a companion.

Time will tell.

Give this technology the chance it deserves. Either it will stand on its face, or fall.

I view it kinda like I view the Tesla automobile. It's not for me, at the moment, as I cannot afford such a high priced automobile that has limited travel time, but at the same time, I do recognize the technology behind the vehicle represents the future of the auto industry.

Same with the AQ-- we might point fingers now, but it very well could mark the beginning of a new technology.

I had serious misgivings about the Equinox, and I voiced them here at one time. The success of that machine told me my misgivings were unwarranted.

Again, time will tell.

Despite the earlier hurdles of obtaining the Impulse AQ a second one have been delivered.

AQ's work very well over here on this side of equator.
