Another gold ring from the lake this afternoon.

I went back to the lake to try my luck again and it payed off smiling smiley I used the same setting except I ran 18 Khz to look for small gold or a chain. Instead of hunting the water, I headed for the area between the water and the old shoreline.

I had hunted for almost an hour in 104 degree sun and was running out of gas fast and had only dug pulltabs and beavertails. I got a funky hit, read 4-5 VDI, but repeatable at about 6" out pops a ring. It had some weird staining on it, but still had that "gold" look to it. Out of the ground it read 6-7 and the reason for the choppy signal was the broken band.

I figured it was a junker, but, after a little cleaning it started looking a whole lot better and I can see 10K inside the band. It's a honker in size, but only weighs 9 grams, it's hollow under the stone. Not to bad of a start with the Tarsacci, 3 gold rings in a week. Water hunting is fun stuff lol!

That’s awesome Dan!
Only 9 grams? LOL
The sound of that ring was probably not your typical round sound right?
And the VDI was probably a little jumpy, right? That’s because the ring is broken!
Remember what I told you w the first ring, there’s more gold there by all the aluminum you dug.
Guess what? There’s still more gold there, probably a lot of 2gram and smaller.....

Thank you Aaron, another reason I thought it was a junker, the weight of it. Tone was funky and the numbers would not lock.

It takes the patience of Job to hunt the beach area smiling smiley The water level has dropped over the years and people have parked and picniced leaving behind hundreds of pieces of aluminum....

I can't handle but a couple hours of digging nothing but lead, aluminum and bottle caps at a time.

The fact that the ring is broke-open......is critical engineering data. THANKS. (((More than you think)))!!!
I need one more critical piece of data: You say the ring was approx. 6" deep. Was the signal extremely faint/weak...… or...….was the signal fairly solid. (Although ID's may have been wavering a bit.... due to non-annular -broke open- ring)???

CONGRAT'S once again on another gold!

Thank you Tom, the signal was robust and very pronounced, just slightly broken up. There was no doubt a target was there.

That open 18k earring I found sounded great too, not round, a little jumpy but consistant mid tone

Good data. We're seeing a pattern!

Same with Dew's 'on-edge' rings.
