Your reply is a complete cop out. .

Two [or more] detectors, same spot, same ring. ALL CONSTANTS

Even becomes MORE IMPORTANT when comparing two different platforms. EX. VLF VS PI.

Just because "you" have been doing it for 50 years that way does not make it correct in 2020 !

But WHAT IF.

What if a gold ring is selected (out of a batch of many gold rings)……. that is more easily detected by one detector...over the other detector. This would be a unsuspecting 'bias' for one of the detectors.

Hence; a STANDARDIZED NICKEL!!!

I was just trying to help you understand why we do it the way we do.

Just because "you" don't understand it does not make it wrong!

TAKE 3 DIFFERENT GOLD RINGS THEN

You know EXACTLY what the term platforms mean too!

Some people are tone deaf. No mater what you try to say, explain or to be helpful they always have an argument against it, not a civil argument but a cantankerous one and normally don't have anything meaningful to contribute. They can be picked out on different forums as they like to frequent forums with the same names with the same rhetoric. I'll normally do a quick scan of their post and if I see it is headed in a direction that is not to my interest I'll move on. One thing I've learned is not to feed them which is their desire allowing them to fester and of coarse I appreciate those that do try to post helpful information.

Before I let the stuck in the mud boomers go for the day.

If I were to do a head to head comparison with the Tarsacci and Equinox on a gold chain for depth. Should the chain be made of Nickle?

BTW Does anyone know of any gold chain Vids for the Tarsacci?

You never even made it to the mud yet, midalake.
I'm not one to call people numbskulls. ... . except when they deserve it. I'm not the brightest bulb myself and know I am what I am with a not so good short term memory. So I try to refrain when people don't get it.

Standard = Serving as or conforming to an established or accepted measurement or value.

What is more uniform in composition, volume and weight, US nickels or gold rings?

Wonder if you'll get this question right......What weighs less, a pound of feathers or a one pound chicken?

Maybe Keith has a full time job. You seem to have unlimited time for detecting. You former Navy?

Gold chains I’ve found the last 3 years (12 I think) on the MDT hit between the digits 1 and 3.

How long have you owned the MDT?

For the record. For those that don’t know. NASA Tom greenlighted Tarsacci release on Dec 11, 2018.
Here is thread/post where he did this.
So so-called general public folks (purchasers of units) have around 18 months max time of possession of the units.
