Why, yes it is, Robert.

Here's a link to the upgrade brochure: (basically, just stability enhancements and the addition of 4kHz to the single freq selection)

Yes. And it is the "stability enhancements" that are (unsuspectingly) ….most important.

I just installed the update, I'll be going out all day tomorrow and I'll see if I can notice the difference.

Dan...…. It'll be VERY 'subtle' ……… (((at first)))!!!

Having no preconceived ideas about what to expect will be a good test to see if I can't detect 'subtle' "stability enhancements"

True words spoken Dan!

(((Single freq 4-Khz did not help me out in my quests; yet, may help others out. Where I gained the most was in the "stability enhancements" department))).

Does the new 4kHz run in Multi????? Or is the 4kHz only single selectable? After reading Minelab's little blurb 10 times it is not clear?

Thanks Dave

Sure would be nice if a detector platform would indeed hold 2 versions software (selectable) by user.
Listening Minelab?
Xp
Nokta - Makro

Then user could more readily compare and see benefits easier.
Allows manufacturer to show off their work better via users of their equipment.

Why 4khz when there is already 5khz.

Are we talking EMI stability enhancements? That would be fantastic!

Fisher was finally able to add some EMI help in their software on F75, albeit arguably at reduced performance (that was not my experience, but some make the claim that it's not as sparky after the upgrade (LTD2).

I noticed a significant drop in performance when I switched from the T2-SE to the F75-LTD DST. I was very disappointed. I wish I had kept the T2SE. I'd rather put up with the EMI than lose the sparkyness.

My backyard has a lot of EMI. I tried the 3.0 update yesterday and saw no change in the EMI levels.

Beach 1 seemed to run a bit smoother at higher sensitivity closer to the water. In the water she’s still chatter than I like. Noticed they didn’t fix that overload light. In the water if it comes on.... it stays on until you raise the coil out of the water. I noticed something changed but thought there was seaweed maybe. Then I saw the light was on .... so I hunted a bit and nope didn’t go off. Raised the coil and reset it.

Beach 1 is not for salt water contact.
As crappy as my Nox is in moving salt water, I have never seen the overload light come on with either of my 800's. Maybe there is something wrong with yours?
