Have you tested it to see if silver or is it marked 925? Pic makes it look like aluminum.

I should have mentioned, it has no mint marks. Tom D. had personally examined this item a few months ago & had agreed it is indeed silver. Keith told me that in his company they use platinum parts for testing and they do not have any mint marks of any kind. That’s why I’m further led to believe this is something industrial related....

Not saying that it is one, but it looks similar to a banded pipe repair clamp (with a few parts missing). But then, if it's silver that pretty much rules that out. Most of those are made of stainless steel.

Maybe I’ll provide a video, to give a better idea of scale. I’d really like to know what this is.....

Take it to a pawn shop or cash for gold guy. They should be able to test it for you.

First...….. take a rare-Earth magnet to it. If it sticks lightly...…. it's stainless steel.

Here’s a good read on magnetism and stainless steel.

You could also take some silver cleaner and silver polish to it. Nothing shines like silver once it's been cleaned and buffed. You should be able to see your self in it.

Whats it read on detector?

Stainless sounds forced and or just weird.

Silver should sizzle a machine at that size.

Arron's find weighs 1.86 oz. (almost two ounces) and reads 33 on the Nox.

A Morgan silver dollar weighs less than an ounce and reads 38.

what is the diameter of the bracelet?
Could it be trade silver?

French/Indian War era?

So, with an ID of 33 it's obviously not silver. Most likely some sort of alloy. Judging by the rivets poking through and the plates on each end, it's probably not a bracelet. I'd say it a part of a clamp or sleeve that held something together.

Was thinking perhaps trade silver too, but don't know what the period trade silver around his area looks like?
