It's interesting that you really don't see many Equinoxes up for sale, and we know they sold boatloads of them, plus they've been out going on what, almost three years.

Kind of a testament to the detector IMHO.

I agree Brian.---Plus the fact--I don't like what I'm seeing on these early tests with the Apex.-----No detector is perfect--but--I think the E800 with the 6" coil is a dangerous combo---VERY good in iron/busted tin!--------Del

I'm not defending the Apex, but I never thought or read it was intended to compete with the likes of the Nox, Deus and a number of other higher end detectors. If it was even close to the E800 in performance, it would be a hell of a deal. My 2 cents, and now I only have 2 others left. HH jim tn

Good point Jim.----It's just that I was hoping it would at least be close to the Vanquish & it doesn't appear to be.----What do I know though! smiling smiley

Other than the leaking problem the Nox is great. This makes the inexpensive, non-waterproof Vanquish a great deal. I even like the fact that one can install some store bought batteries when the power gets low.

I always carry a spare battery for my detector, pin-pointer or what ever might run out of batteries
I'm not going to be that guy standing there without batteries with my thumb in my a..................

to be perfectly honesty don't trust rechargeables any way.
they are rated at 1.2 volts, and when they go, they go out right away.
1.5 volt alkaline will last longer, and go out more gradually thus allowing
you a little wiggle room.
