What Happened To The Nokta Impact ????

I haven't read anything about the Impact. Was there something unexceptionable about the machine ?? Did it not have enough options or maybe not dropped from the sky ???
Any way, What Happened ????????
Any Thoughts ????

Think Nokta/Makro turned out too many too fast for a while there.----Michael296 Wrote:

I had one for awhile but I didn't like the audio. Nothing really stood out performance wise for me either.

Then the Anfibio-Multi

DeepTech Vista X with 3 search coils.

I still have my Impact and love it.

Have the little football 7.5"x4", the 7" concentric, and the 13" MARS Discovery.

It has flagship performance and I prefer the audio over my Equinox's audio.

I still have my Impact Pro pack....bought it earlier in the year when I saw how much the price had dropped. I replaced my 19 kHz Fisher/Tek series units with it and just run it in 20 kHz like a souped up F19.

I like it and don't plan to part with it.

The Impact is a great detector, but the folks at Nokta/Makro don't sit idle perpetually re-badging the same machines as new models as some companies do, they continue to move forward with improvements based on customer feedback (what a novel idea eh?), which resulted in the Multi Kruzer and Anfibio.

Personally I'm a big fan of the MMK. I had the Impact, and while I felt it was a great detector from a performance and feature perspective, the ergonomics were (for me) a hot mess and it was a bit on the heavy side. The MMK fixed all of those issues, and although it has less search modes, it has all of the ones that I used, with the addition of a hot 4-tone search mode, as well as a 3-tone that can be set up with a hyper reactivity speed setting for hunting in heavy iron (or used to mitigate EMI) and has improved audio characteristics. It's also waterproof which the Impact was not, lighter, uses a S-shaft vs straight shaft, as well as a multitude of other advancements (from my perspective).

I bought one but never used it after I realized that it doesn't have a conventional depth gauge. I'd like to sell it off, and will make somebody a great deal, lol.

From the manual:

TARGET DEPTH
The device provides an estimated target depth according to the signal strength. In the
pinpoint mode, estimated target depth is shown on the display in cms (or inches - please
see below for details) while getting closer to the target.
Depth detection is adjusted presuming that the target is a 2.5cm (1'') coin. Actual depth
varies according to the size of the target. For instance, the detector will indicate more
depth for a target smaller than a 2.5cm (1'') coin and less depth for a larger target. In reality,
pinpoint procedure is not intended for depth determination but exact location determina-
tion. Therefore, it is recommended that the depth indicator on the display is used for deter-
mining the proximity to the target.

If you don't like the metric depth read out switch to inches.

I don't want to have to pinpoint a target to know how deep it is. I want a continuous depth meter, like on my Etrac and Equinox.
