Title says it all!----About time for him to make another comparison vid isn't it?

Yeah I thought he would have trashed the Apex by now. Hope he is okay.

Perhaps emitting laser beams from his eye drained him? Hope he did't hit anything volatile!

I thought maybe he got banned here?

I don't think he got banned from here---but???-----He was going great guns--and then---nothing!-----I hope he's ok.----Does anybody know if he is posting on the other forums?

The last time he checked in on this forum was Septemeber 8th, so he's been away for a while.

I think sometimes when guys are trying to go the “extra mile” to do videos and comparisons and such, they run into issues. Sooner or later, in the end, the people who are going to agree will do so and the ones who don’t wont. It’s as if the effort really hasn’t GOTTEN them anywhere, and they start questioning why they’re busting themselves up for just about nothing. This could be where he’s at...or deer hunting...or both.

From a youtuber point of view ( as it's even more visible with social interaction platform)
Even if you try to teach some stuff to people , there's alway some people that try to messup with you because they either not agreeing or they think they know better or they think there is only one answer and they got the right one ...

Don’t get me wrong here. I think Calabash is a great detectorist, knowledgeable about detectors he uses and the sweet soil he hunts in, and seems like the kinda guy who would be fun to hunt with. I enjoy and appreciate his videos. But I also think he believes he’s the one who knows better and the only one with the right answer.

A lot of armchair critics for sure, but you get that when you make public videos.

He definitely has the passion. I think he was getting into fishing too, is it fishing season where he's at?

I heard he found everything there was to find in his neck of the woods. He's probably hunting or fishing, or scuba diving, or working the restaurant, or something else.

I liked most of his vids.----I don't know about strokin--but---sad to say---I'm afraid most of my swingin days are behind me.----I ain't done yet though!

Del, so far I've been able to hang in there, swinging an average of 4 hours most days......Yeah, ole Cal is a good guy and what ever part of the finding hobby he pursues he goes at it full bore. and seems to do well. HH jim tn

I don't watch his videos but I am glad to hear that he is okay. After watching his video where he was using a Tesoro Cibola that supposibly wouldn't pick up a quarter made me not have much trust in his videos. If a person can make a piece of paper sit still long enough you can write whatever you want on it & if you have a camera you can make it do anything you want.

In other words, you are saying that Calabash intentionally caused the Tejon to have bad performance in order to mislead his viewers. That's a pretty strong claim.

Badger I think he tries to do comparison videos to make another brand look bad. Just like the CZ3D video he done. His ground balance was way off for his soil. He knows the Deus and Equinox quiet well you put another machine in his hands and he doesn't know how to set it up right. He bashed a bunch of the guys on this forum that know their crap. I have actually enjoyed seeing less of him on this forum. He's a Sh!t stirrer period.

What I meant is why make a video with a defective detector if your point isn't to knock it. Check out his video titled 11 reasons not to buy a Tesoro metal detector, and see for yourself. I am no genius but have been using Tesoro detectors since they came out and know better than to believe that a Cibola won't pick up a quarter ????. Someone must of been messing with the internal pots. who didn't know what they were doing. I have adjusted many Tesoro Compadres and know how out of whack they can get if you adjust the disc. pot. wrong.

To add....he makes videos, many of them comparisons obviously if you’ve seen any of them....but I do videos on items found in the wild and dug live. To be honest, I have all but run out of targets with which to do this in my area. He might be experiencing the same when trying to do live digs. Permissions do run thin for people after awhile, and with the COVID thing happening, many people likely aren’t going to be receptive to door knocking, or any contact really. I don’t blame them, many of these people are older and just want to be cautious. But it really kills our ability to find decent ground to film on, so it might be another reason he’s out diving and such.
