Tex----Are you getting rid of the Vanquish & Simplex or just putting them in the closet?

I've heard some good stuff about the Q30 on a FB forum. Ive got the Q20 and love it. Looking forward to your comments and finds.

In the closet for now.

In my experience, the Vanquish is outstanding for an inexpensive detector. What does your Quest Q 30+ supposedly do better?

Never heard of this guy before but he has more subscribers than the Hoover Boys and he gave nice review of the detector.

Vanquish and the Quest are both great machines. The Quest will unmask better, not even close.
But the Vanquish isn't a slouch either, I really do like the 440. Two totally opposite machines with different types of people targeted for marketing, and made for two different types of hunting scenarios.
Can't go wrong with either,as long as you know they're strengths over each other and what's best for your needs. There is no perfect machine imo

Do you have to be a foreign citizen to get one? Called numerous dealers and they keep saying either out of stock or US distributor not sending any out. Trying to say Covid to blame or is it price gouging?

Just a personal preference relic hunting in 4 to 5 bar dirt.

The New Quest Q60 will have 3 single frequencies you can choose from.Has not been released in the USA yet.

Personally I don't get any benefit of running a multi frequency machine over a single frequency machine. The fbs do have great ID at depth and I like them but that's personal preference in tones and ID. But for the rest of the market I've done better in my finds from a single frequency machine than with a multi frequency machine. I guess to each they're own,I'm not stuck on the whole multi frequency thing,I use what works

The Q60 will also come with full wireless headphones and their new coil design. I may have to have this but will add the new larger coil to the Q30 when they come out.

You can use Nel coils too.

Too bad they didn't keep the orig. ergonomic handle. The straight tube type now used doesn't look to be to comfy.

Just got a Quest Q40 in a trade with Woodbutcher the other day. Machine was in new condition as he said it would be. I've never had a machine built any better than the Quest. Solid as can be with absolutely no wobble. The screen is like a cellphone screen and not flexible Saran wrap like most other machines. It makes a joke of Monte's nail board test with the 9x11 coil. I have a bucket of Culpeper dirt and the Quest is the only machine that will identify a 58 three ringer with a fairly good ID at 8 inches. It won't do it in jewelry or coin mode, but it's fairly accurate in all metal. The Q40 is limited in features (doesn't have an iron volume control or a smooth threshold in all metal) but I think it will get the job done. I really have no use for a headlight or a vibrating handle anyway, although I'm sure their later models will have these features. The wireless headphones work great and will run about 20 hours or so before they need recharging. I plan on taking it out today to some of my hard hit sites as soon as the ground thaws a little.

Chinese built, probably reverse engineered (like most China products) from an existing product and modified.
But, still probably the best China made detector with high ratings of acceptance and performance.
I had the Q40 and liked it with the smaller coil.
