Has anyone, any news regarding the Fisher Impulse AQ or the Impulse Gold ???

Should we just give up or is there some light at the end of this tunnel ???

Hmmm ... looks like I'm the 47th sucker to fall for this.

"Oh, some Impulse news, that's cool, let's take a look!"

I fell for it too. The title of the thread is a bit misleading.

To answer the question, I think we should give up.

That was Rick Kempf aka lytle78. He dropped out of the AQ dealership six months ago as I recall.

Looking at his activity, Rick hasn't visited this forum since January 2nd.

Sad stuff. At the end of it all I am surprised that it disappeared from the news. A discriminating PI detector! Is it out of the realm of possibilities? I have been hearing about the inevitable invention of this detector for probably over twenty years. I got old waiting on it. And now I believe that I have lost interest in it. To be honest I believe I have lost interest in the hobby itself. At least when it comes to sinking my money in the same old same old.

Anyone know why Rick dropped out of the AQ dealership? He was really rooting for the AQ for years. He was on another popular forum that many members here also frequent as recent as July 17 confused smiley

A couple of the managers were given their walking papers so im told. One of those managers made the deal with Rick, and the last he posted he was still a dealer, but no longer involved with the project. In fact Fisher opened it up to all those on his list who wanted a Limited and even sent a few over seas or to others who contacted them. I dont know that its a dead project.... but they do have some bugs to work out and i assume they dont want to put out the machine with those issues. I also dont think it got great press on disc, battery, or noise in the water or at least not what people expected. BUT... from those i know who have one.... its a darn deep machine. There are some who still hope the production model will fill a niche gap. The power is there. Things have really slowed because of the virus parts and just having people to do the job. Im just glad they survived....a lot of companies didnt.

That's really sad to hear Rick is no longer involved. I contacted him a while back when he first asked for interested parties and put my name on the waitlist. Months later I got the email and waited patiently for my unit. It has been everything I wanted in a PI water unit short of longer battery life and magnetic charging like the EQ.

Sadly through due to COVID and work, I've only taken it hunting less than a handful of times, but every hunt has been a success. It's a powerful and deep machine. I didn't expect the disc to work like a VLF, so I wasn't disappointed when it didn't work like some videos made it out to be...managed expectations and all.

This is the machine I had been waiting for and I hope it makes it to full production. Cheers and happy hunting!

Thanks for the reply, I much appreciate your perspective.
I also thank you for your input, we need to try to resuscitate the forum or maybe get it breathing again.
