Need some advice on a Nokta Pointer please.........

I recently won a Nokta Pointer t a seeded hunt. I run a Deus with an MI-6 but thought the Nokta Pointer would do well partnered with my loaner/backup which is a Teknetics Minuteman. I set up the Nokta Pointer as per the user manual, to max depth but am only getting a depth of 7/8". This does not seem that it is getting the depths it should get. I need some input from you guys that are using the Nokta Pointer. Should I be getting better depth?

A check on Youtube will guarantee to find some 'depth tests' on the popular pinpointers, either individually or as a 'head-to-head' comparison.
Obviously, you didn't say what target(s) you're testing it with, but I would expect a medium-sized coin to be detectable at 2" for any modern pointer. One inch is the performance that older ones may have got , but customers expect 2-3 inches today.
A rather obvious point - check your battery is a good one.
