Dear Woodbutcher.
My comment above is toward an inanimate object. A forum.
Your comments are about me personally. You don't and can't read my mind on how I feel about anything.

The forum owner here. He actually appreciates videos I do and videos Calabash does. Why? It's called Info sharing and what is shown backs up what even Mr Danksowski and perhaps others here have witnessed with equipment.

Btw I am having the time of my life retired. Detecting and doing whatever else is fell like. Life is grand.
Retired now for almost 20 years. Loving it.
Wouldn't change I thing either.

Lots of good people on Friendly, the owners Vlad & his wife, SeabeeRon, Craig, and a number of others. I have received a lot of information done alot of wheeling and dealing,etc. over the years there. I feel fortunate that I have the opportunity to read and post on that forum and on this forum as I enjoy this forum very much as well.

Was Calabash & TNSS banned off of both Friendly & Findmall Forums?

FMDing is still down. Bummer, I hope it's nothing to serious. I cycle through here DP and FMDing several times a day.

Below is the latest FMDF's owner got from the server company he uses.....

So the engineers are going to build a new server which has better specs:
Once thats built, they are going to attempt to connect/mount the drive form the old server so they can migrate the data to the new server.
I will update you as they update me.

It could take awhile for us to be back up and running, but we will!

Its going to be down a little while...

They are building a new server and going to migrate the data to the new server.

Everyone has their preferences, I like FMDF and this one.
TN I haven't been to in years, overhyped over moderated ghetto forum with mods on a constant power trip in diapers.

Don't watch many MD videos period but calabash from what little I have seen is a good comprehensive guy who doesn't mind diving deep into settings, but something about his style doesn't grab me and its tough to sit through a whole vid.

Do you guys pay for a Dedicated server that is pricey or is it a shared plan?

I wouldn't know, I am just a Moderator there. Vlad and Carol are the owners.

I don't believe I have ever visited Friendly's Forum. I'd guess is it's going to be modernized and user friendly. Good for them.

Add to that are mods that shill for a certain advertiser. To the point of materially altering the text of your posts. Thats when i quit on them so so many years ago.
I would also add that i like Herschbach's forum in addition to this one for tech discussions.

I recall good old midalake being one of the prime wingnut agitators there, glad he doesn't pull that crap here.

The only wingnut forum I have been kicked out of is Findmall. Those wingnuts can go F themselves.

I have never even received a note or a scolding on the other three forum I belong to.

Since you asked. The real truth as far as me.
I have not been banned on any forum I am a member to include detecting forums and others.
I quit DP forum. Why? For a few reasons.
#1 Forum owner was passing judgement and making statements about a detector model he had never held or run namely XP Deus 2. A detector that I in fact had. So how was I supposed to feel comfortable posting about my detector on this forum in question. When I knew full well based on my use and testing this gent was full of it.
#2. The forum moderator seemingly wanted to constantly argue every point as a result of my posting some thing detector related.
#3 That forum has member named McClendon who constantly trolled me always trying to prove me wrong. And he even trolled me on another forum named friendly. He obviously has some sort of problem. His disputing Legend V1.08 had no issues. I showed this with detector in hand with simple video. And updated detector to V1.09 and problem all of a sudden dissapeared -go figure. Not to mention earlier versions with Legend did NOT have this problem. I checked and earlier version and showed via video as well. This is just one example, Funny thing is beta version 1.10 addresses some of the things I was reporting via video - again go figure. And these again disputed by same gent. Guess I am battling 1000 , where as this gent batting a zero.

I quit posting on Friendly forum. Guess my account is still active.
Why?
Forum management full of Hippocrits.
They seemingly don't want info sharing via video.
They even had at least one of their forum management post video of supposed banned member. Something they accused me of doing.
They constantly allow name calling of actual members namely myself. And this is still going on.
Childish behavior.
Full of actual character assinations.
I am bigger than this and will spend my time elsewhere. Like right here.
Oh yeah I get to share my data on my you tube channel as well.

So there you have it. The gospel truth.

This forum not in LA LA land like some.

So who am I?
An honest trust worthy person. A person who was held in high regard in the USAF. Why? Because I would speak up and share info on aircraft related problems. Even on aircraft systems outside of my specialty.

A few stories.
Sitting in a senior afternoon staff meeting some 29 years ago there was the 1Lt last name Miglionico who was officer in charge of dept that worked on aircraft engines. This one aircraft had a repeating malfunction. A full bird Col last name Johnson was head cheese. This Col kept asking this Lt the same question using different wording not liking the Lt's honest response. After about 4 times the Col did this, this Lt said. Sir if you can't stand the answer don't ask the question. You could hear a pin drop. The Lt was right.

Second story. Aircraft anti icing problem. A recurring problem. Many ma y times. I was in meeting listening. This system outside of my specialty. So after a while of listening I spoke up and asked? Have you changed circuit breaker. And explained this system, draws high current wnd many previous malfunction likely tripped Circuit breaker. (I learned this by going to numerous aircraft lading debiefings during my you gears years in AF. I was always paying attention even if not my system I was responsible for. Hence circuit breaker past its time to hold load. Room got quiet. And I never heard any more about this am function again in next days or weeks. I can only assume it fixed aircraft by changing circuit breaker.

Third story.
C-130 had high oil temp. This was in my specialty. A recurring problem. Folks junior to me checked system. I even went out and had a look. I happened to run into an engine trooper I new and said when are you folks goi g to change that engine. He laughed and thought I was full of it.
Well, it was decided what they were going to do was duct tape wiring harness from adjacent engine and connect to prove it wiring was problem. This engine btw only showed high lol temp with max power ground runs. Well that pla felt though as no senior maintenance person would clear forum for such an action -IMO it was high risk with engine with properller. So after about 2 more days of here hawing around some senior person ordered engine changed. Guess what problem corrected.
About 6 days later after faulty engine was at Warner Robbins Ga repair facility they called back to base where engine was shipped from. And said guess what that engine had collapsed interior oil line.

Yeah.
Folks learned to take me more serious. And for good reason.
I could share other similar instances that happened over my 22 years and change during my illustrious career in AF.
I was never afraid to weigh in if I thought I could help. Just how I am. I am the same with metal detectors.
I don't just make stuff up. Not the kinda guy I am.

tnsharpshooter. . are you still using your Deus2. I was very impressed with the "Fast" program in a sea of iron . . . never had a detector with unmasking magic like this one. I'm still learning the D2 and I'm a little excited about it. I'm back in the game because of it.

I didn't say you did, I said you were, according to my memory, quite an argumentative troll on TN, and perhaps still are.

Update on Friendly...

Good news is they attached the old harddrive to the new server so I can copy files. Which I'm doing now and it is a lot faster vs me coping files from my backup.
I might have a temporary page in place informing members of what happen, maybe today.

The server guys are pointing the domain name to the new server.

At this rate we might be up and running this weekend/early next week!
