Looking for a Fisher CZ3D

Thinking about trying a Fisher CZ3D detector, I have a very nice Minelab Equinox 600 with headphones for trade.

Steve, I probably don't need to mention this to someone experienced as you, but make sure you get a proper one. Big differences between good and bad units with the cz-3d.

Yes but you get a good one 'aka' 12" on dime one and it like a regular CZ on steroids in my moderate ground anyway just as deep coil for coil as Explorer or Etrac.

Actually I didn't know this, I didn't realize there was a difference between them. How do I know if I am getting a good one or not. Thanks

How would you check them ?

Like Del says, look for one that has been certified by Tom at around 12" give or take a few tenths of an inch. There wii be one of Tom's stickers on the units he tunes. Expect to pay a good bit more for a deep Tom tuned one.

If you get one that Tom has not certified, it's a crapshoot. Your best odds for a good one that hasn't been Tom tuned would be a Los Banos manufactured unit with a serial number that starts with 1021. Or an early run 1121. It's been a few years since Tom tuned one for me, I'm not sure if Tom still offers his service. I imagine he will chime in shortly to let you know.

I appreciate all the info folks, I am not 100% sure that I am going to trade as I like the Equinox very well but the CZ3D is a detector that has always peaked my interest.

I have a Tom tuned cz3d, 12.2" on a dime but it would take more than a Minelab 600 to even consider a trade.

I still have well over 100 active requests for Serial # 1021 CZ-3D's.
Yes...... I still calibrate/validate/certify analog CZ's.

I also have a 1021… how much to calibrate?

For the past 15-years....... I charge $100 for a full calibration/validation/certification of a analog CZ. This includes return shipping.

Guess I have a 1021 and a 1121.....1021 is going to Tom

That's a good deal.
