HumblePie's post got me to thinking about something so I'll toss it out here for comment..

IRT Maghemite and magnetic susceptibility... Tom you have always stated that the ML multi-freq machines handle bad ground better than singlel freq VLF's. Assuming that they are doing a better job of subtracting the ground signal why can't this same tech be applied to dedicated VLF gold detectors for improved performance in bad ground? What are your thoughts? Does this have any merit?

Tom,

You bet it has merit. But,,,,, multi-freq units false on iron a fair amount more............ rendering it (if it is to be used as a gold unit) quite a bit more handicapped.......as iron and gold are low conductors. Plus,,,,, gold fields are usually laced with large volumes of iron.
