No, in moderately mineralized ground. I've heard that setting the ground balance to "10" works in some ground but I've never encountered such mineralization. If I encounter nails I move the ground balance to zero.

I recently had good success with my 3D and 5" coil running under the roof drip line of an abandoned 150 year old church. Nails everywhere and hardly a false.

Interesting, never heard that but willing to try as the falsing is pretty bad from all the 150+ bent, rusty nails in this spot. Thanks

Tom what's your take?

Correct. Rotating Grnd Bal away from 10....... will change how the unit responds to iron (including falsing). This is also true with the T2/F70/F75. You may lose a slight amount of depth..... but gain a fairly large/better ID of iron.

Ok great, so as long as it isn't excessive like carpet nails then the CZ3D would probably work better especially w the 5" coil.
Thanks
