Death Notice-- LTD is now done??
December 02, 2009 11:32PM
I have been told that the LTD has ended it's production and only some dealers have a few. My questions is " as a manufacturer why would I stop a production on a detector that is the best since slice bread". Now thinking the F75 first gen was out for just over 2 years and many of us have own it since it was out. NOW just in the past 3 1/2 months a new and very improved F 75 LTD was introduced. All of us that are die hard for new and improved technology sold our 1st gen to purchase the LTD. I have not one regret in doing so, but don't that make you wonder about what is now going on??? You are a company in the business of making money and producing the best technology, so why stop making a truly superior detector?? I feel that they are or already have a true replacement for the LTD just waiting to market it in the first quarter of the new year..Doesn't it make sense, to survive you need to be on top with the best that can be manufactured but then again are they going to make that move soon or wait, but in any circumstance will you and I as a good Fisher customer feel taken..by this I mean we will be buying another super detector if it is a " better then the LTD" . Yes I will buy the next one out, if it is that much advanced for I'm just that much of a Fisher fan, Relic Hunter and believer in their products, but may not like their market strategy . Since the F75 and the LTD I have dug more Relics and gold coins in camps that were said to be hunted out.. Well what say you all, it would be interesting to hear and I'm sure this site is visited by the Fisher Upper Management to read..

I have been told that...

1) We will be a socialistic state in one year with a gov't run press
2) Our gov't doesn't want to sent too may troops overseas because they need to quell the upcoming rebellion
3) Agents will come to my house and take my gun
4) New health care will pay for late term abortions

The recent production stoppage at FT (which was initially claimed to be the end of the LTD run) was caused by a part shortage. When they received the new supply of parts production resumed.

If FT makes a better mousetrap, more power to them, and I encourage the innovation. I very much doubt that they will stop producing the LTD until they are producing the new flagship in volume. If production of the LTD has indeed stopped, then that new detector is right around the corner.

It is very strange that Fisher did it the way they did but I am sure they have a new unit coming out in a year or two and maybe they will have a F75 LTD to sell again..You just never know but enjoy what you have and save for the next unit. Fisher is the leader and I think it will stay that way since Whites blew it on there new units.

It was called a LTD for a reason, there were a limited number produced
and the people that took advantage of the opportunity to buy one were rewarded with getting an extra coil as part of the package.
I had checked with my local dealer in Canada a couple of weeks ago and he was told they were know longer available.
I would think the LTD will be renamed, with no camo paint and no extra coil, probably something like the F80. You would think they would have it ready for XMAS!!!

........and so it goes in the automotive world and many other areas;

a new model is waiting in the wings and the old one gets a "value package" added to it to get rid of stock.

For the holidays only?
Is there a brand new Fisher waiting to be introduced in januari 2010?

The LTD has been a great testbed for BP and CL modes that will be seen in a brandnew detector.

Marketingwise it's better to give the "new one"a new name, but this has been a great way to have it tested by experts and users alike.

Pretty smart Fisher :-))

If you are in the game and love this hobby then when the next unit comes out you buy it learn it and move on..not every new detector that has come out has lived up to its new name....Whites...really made a cool unit but my god who needs color and fifty coils and you have to be Nasa Tom to program it...Give Fisher a chance to move forward not backward.

Its not dead, they are making more

I think Fisher was caught of guard, and really didnt think the unit we be as popular as turned out to be,in such a short amount of time. I think they figured that production build would last through the holidays. Rest assured, a product that popular, a company would be loco not to make more.

I know a dealer that still has an F75LTD. If anyone is interested, let me know.

Exercising prudence.

'bp' process & 'cl' process will never go away...... unless something else 'trumps'.

And on the same line; There may be a reason as to 'why' the F75 LTD is called a 'limited'.

Very interesting, Tom.

And thank you for making it so easy to read between the lines...

It is strange that the LTD came and went..It may be that they will reissue it and everyone that didn't get the F75 will now buy the new LTD or what ever it will be called...but to think that Fisher will come out with a new flagship in 2010 I think is asking for a little too much?

But we will see and maybe some other company will come out with something new and improved...Whites seems to have missed the boat but did make their users very happy with a machine you can program to no end..I don't see many relic hunters using the machine so I wonder how much money they are going to make waiting so many years to come out with a machine that thinks in color but is not better at helping you dig or not dig.

The LTD and F75 is far from perfect in Calif ground but from all the different brands I have had I have stuck with Fiher for the last six years and always learn more about the LTD and F75 when I hunt...
