yes the newer machines with the iron tone reveal alot about a target it's calling iron..

I find the DTVG iron audio to be the most conveying of any machine for items saying iron but are not..

Yes Kevin you need to get hold of an ultimate..

I was using the Ultimate last week in a camp site...I got a weird 80 reading that was double hitting ...well after digging about 13 inches down and opening a hole up bigger than a wash tub I found a brass buckle on edge...it was a huge buckle big as the palm of my hand...but it was straight up and down...alot of machines and coil combos have went ascross that..

I admit it was a weird hit but on edge stuff sounds weird anyways...but the coil was able to give a very accurate reading on it wihtt he 80 lock I.D.

I belive other coils and machines and combos of both were calling that item iron at that depth...Or jsut sounding to weird to dig...the HF freq and the Ultimate coil combined to hit that object at depth..

Heres what you need for that G2

5 inch FT DD
10x5 FT DD
11 BiAxial DD
13 Ultimate DD

that's the whole set up right there...

I find a use for every coil ..

and never dismiss the biaxial stock coil..

Although 85% of the time I run the 10x5...

Im really enamored with the G2 as of late...

Keith, I still haven't even used the 5x10 dd myself yet! All I have used from day one is the ultimate 13 in my relic spots in central Kentucky. But maybe I should try it out next time. Why?

1)I'm still having a problem digging "ghost holes" basically getting a good signal, digging the plug, resweep, dig approximately 13 to 15 inches across, and even today was digging holes a measured 18-20 inches down, would still have a repeatabke signal

2) I'm having a horrible time pin pointing on the 13 ultimate. Any suggestions? On pinpointing?

I have never used the white 5x10, for fear of losing depth, etc, but am ready to try it I think. Just being able to pin point better would be one reason after all.

ALSO, ate you digging in disc mode of 40 or some lower threshold area of ALL METAL MODE?
