Learned not to air test targets while in my hand with the Deus....

It will give a nice signal and right side of horseshoe indication out to about 4" with several of my programs . Either hand and no metal present . I thought i had the ultimate tiny gold nugget machine for a few min. LOL .

Not sure why it detects my hands but it does .....

blood could be high in iron

Any good vLF gold detector will readily detect the iron in your blood, detecting your hand out to several inches - that's normal.

If a VLF won't do that it LIKELY won't find small girl.

Pedophile safe only if it can't find small boys too. How is that again, Rick?

It's the salt in your body (water, blood) that's the culprit, rather than the iron compounds in your red cells. If you coil is poorly-shielded, it could also be a capacitance effect.

I new about gold machines but was amazed it hits my hands even in 4Khz in the hotter programs . At least it calls me good rather than junk !
PS I have not had a chance to test the machine on my little granddaughters yet lol ...

That's some funny stuff right there..

Extremely senstive gold machines will do this also..

especially the plus 50Khz models..

I rememebr detector shops using those machines to test nuggets from say a lobo to the others...the lobo would not hear the tiny nugget 6 inches away but it did on the really high gain models...but what was funny it was reading the hand not the nugget...I showed that to a dealer once who was demoing them...He said whoops!! LOL...

Seems like I remember the old XLT when strung out hot in all metal mode would read your hand too..

That reminds me of when I went and purchased my Goldbug 2.

A small gold coin registered amazing depths??
Both the dealer and myself were utterly amazed at the time.

He should have known better,... maybe he did,... but I had this new super duper gold finding machine.
Talk about the pinpointer not hitting the targets :-)

Don't use it much,... can't bring myself to sell it though. It's like going hunting with a microscope,... freaky.

Been off the web (and the sauce) for a day or so and I missed all the fun my post generated!

Darn autocorrect feature!

Oh well, serves me right for showing off my supposed expertise with gold detectors - now if I only had some expertise in finding gold!

I have been in Denmark for about 4 weeks. My dreams of viking treasure are still dreams, but I found a really nice small pewter button - 18th century - and an 1893 Indian Head penny!!! - go figure.

Meanwhile I have consoled myself with picking many pounds of Pacific Oysters. They are considered an invasive species here and nobody wants them - except me! Oysters Rockefeller last week - Po' Boys this week!

Ome nice thing about detecting here is that the commonest coins are 10 and 20 Kroner - worth about $1.75 and $3.50!
