Oh dear, it looks like owners of second-hand [previously owned] machines won't be eligible, unless they are lucky enough to have all the original purchasers paperwork.
I was contemplating getting this upgrade, but have no such paperwork.

From my read, if you purchased the detector from an authorized dealer, you can get the upgrade. If you don't have the paperwork for the purchase, then you can't buy the extended warranty. So I have to remember who I bought it from a couple years ago--I did send it back to Fisher once and told them I bought it from the dealer and they fixed it and shipped it back for free. Great Service!

Indeed , unit has to have been purchased from an authorized dealer as well.
Why would they not offer the upgrade to any unit , especially if you're willing to pay the shipping?
In addition , if you bought either the regular or ltd version before July 1st , you now can pay them $99 to lose nearly 2 years of the factory warranty to get a warranty that is transferrable--what's up with that? Are they going to do something during the upgrade that makes the machines warranty better? Why isn't the original transferrable?
Who's running this company , the IRS?

I spoke with fisher today...I also have a second hand F75 LTD,they said they would allow an Upgrade.... #1 –F75LTD to New Enhanced F75LTD OR F75 to New Enhanced F75 - $159.00 for those that have no recipe having purchase a used F75 LTD.
You can also buy Optional Extended Warranty:
Available with any upgrade
1 Year - $49.00
2 Year - $69.00
3 Year - $99.00

With 3 year option warranty becomes transferable

Well just paid for the upgrade...for a black F75...it says shipping is free(at first told me to mail machine and I called back and said shipping is free!.....if you are getting upgrade...well they have to send me a label(though the mail).....you have to pay one way if you have a new machine and are getting the upgrade free. Mine was bought used and it went though?

I hope they won't be wanting to read off the serial number in order to re-program it into the new firmware. Mine wore off the label a long time ago.

Well it is a little bit confusing – but anybody can get the upgrade you just order it online they send you a receipt and you ship in your detector anybody can purchase the extended warranty also. If you have an existing warranty and one that warranty extended by one year or two years or three years and if you want the free upgrade you have to furnish proof of purchase.

Oh yeah by the way somehow or another you manage to get hold of the fake F-75 you're out of luck.

I asked about how the warranty extension works, and if I understood the answer correctly, it is like this:

If you buy the 3 year transferable warranty;

1. With no existing warranty you now have a 3 years transferable.
2. With 1 year left, you now have 4 years and all are transferable
3. With 2 years left, you now have 5 years and all are transferable
4. With 4 years left, you now have 7 years and all are transferrable
5. With 4 years and 4 months, you now have 7 years and 4 months and all are transferable

I have 1 question ... Are the new fishers going to have a transferrable warranty? Fisher would take a lot of business from other companies if they offered a transferrable warranty..

Maybe, one could also argue it would hurt their business as they sell new units and the used market would be boosted. Expect a price adjustment if they do. Both for small sales decrease and extra warranty support needed.
