Hit hard at about seven inches down in 18khz, gmp program.Thought it was brass at first.

The only gold I've found with the Deus was about like that but carved out a bit--I think it read in the mid 40's @ 18 khz. A lot lower than I expected.

Too bad it doesn’t have any maker’s marks or date inscriptions. European hallmarks date back several centuries, and are encoded with date, location, and maker’s info.

Yeah, was kinda bummed about that. Half the fun is looking up makers marks and tracking down the history as we all well know. The jewellers said that it very well could have been locally made due to the poor weld and resizing attempt. Either way, still fun popping out a ring at a hard hunted field site.

Nice find. Gold is great any time. Going to be looking for some all weekend long.
