13 inch Ultimate on my F-19

I used my 11 inch (off of my G2) DD coil when hunting a very mineralized site (not as bad as Culpepper I wouldn't think, even though I have never been to Culpepper). But I want to use my 13 inch coil next weekend when hunting this area because it is a huge amount of acreage and the soldiers where all over it. there is a camp on one of the ridges. My question:
Is it COUNTER-PRODUCTIVE to use a 13 inch coil (with such a large footprint) on ground that is moderately mineralized???? My goal is to get an extra inch of depth but MAINLY to cover more ground. The buttons where , I'm not sure, about HALF the depth of my Garret Pro-pointer. But this same ground used to be plowed. So SOME buttons and bullets (and hopefully buckles) would likely have fallen lower in the ground, depending on how deep the turning plow was running.
I can't shut up. Back to my question: Is there a point to where a larger coil starts "seeing' too many minerals in the ground and subsequently loses depth???

Yep, I would say 4 bars, definitely. There will be a level of mineral where the tradeoffs with big coils start going in the wrong direction. Watch some of Keith's videos using F19 and F75LTD2. One can get an idea.

3 and 4 bar soil is all I have here to hunt in. When I'm relic hunting, you wont find a coil smaller than a 10x12 on my detector. I have the Ultimate on my MXT and it has been mounted to it 100% of the time when relic hunting. I did just recently buy a SEF 10x5 coil though for hunting trashier sites.

I appreciate the feedback guys. I think I'll try the 13 incher out this coming Saturday.

I bought it from a metal detecting buddy. He had used it on an Omega. Seems to work fine on the F19.
