Thank you. I can't believe how long they last....

You can also use the extra heavy duty heat shrink bags/material for coil covers on open coils to give a closed bottom. They actually last quite a while even in the brush where they are needed the most and add only minute weight.

Good idea!! A heat gun at Harbor Freight is probably cheap enough too.

For what it costs for a commercially sold cover and visor you can buy a nice heat gun, roll of duct tape and 50 bags and have money left over. Then you'll have 50 covers for most any machine.

Borrow the wifes hair dryer. Tell her you need it for something REALLY important!

First and foremost thanks for sharing surely a cheap efficient way to go...The ingenuity of some of our members especially various mods is certainly welcomed by the forum.

Unless the blow dryer can hit 275 to 300 degrees then It's not a good candidate. Now a hair dryer will do it but you will have to stay in the wrap so long that the control head will act as a heat sink and absorb too much heat. With a heat gun you are only on the wrap just a second or two and it's shrunk down before the heat is absorbed. If your wrapping a non electronic item then a blow dryer will be just fine. If you do buy a heat gun make sure it's thermostatically controlled. I have seen variable temp heat guns for under $20.
