New CZ3D Problem?
June 04, 2010 02:14AM
Read all I could before posting but I feel I have to ask. Im not a stranger to GBing. I use a Landstar and GB it with no problems. So GBing the 3d is no problem. My problem is the sens. settings. Starting at Sens=4 GB=7 V=10 Desc=0 it falses moderatly at Sens=5 its crazy bouncing from iron to tab to Lrg coin and needle stays there untill next beep. My air test is a silver dime faint at 9" sens=5 gb=7 v=10 desc=0 clear at 7" It would be hard to tell if its a valid signal with the constant falsing. With the desc=3 there is no falsing but my air test drops to 5" faint at 6". In Autotune I have Sens(thres.) =9 gb=7 v=10 and I still only get a very faint 9" These are all in Enhanced mode. If I turn desc up to 6 it falses less but I have cut out tabs and iron so falses only to large coin. I bought this new on Sunday May 30th and noticed it has a 0510 mfg date. I still get falsing at several places Ive tried and even when coil is 10' in air. EMI isnt a concern. No where near anything like broadcast, cell, electrical towers or lines. I wonder if I should send it back to Fisher to be tuned. It just came from there. This cant be right.

Got a call into Fisher. Worked with dealer and then another experenced detector an its got to be MD. Sure has put a damper on vac. week. My uMax is as deep as this is in this state. Hope they can help because I want this machine or one that works like it should. I was aware some were having this concern so I covered my rear so Im sure at end I will be just another satisfied customer.

Sounds like your unit has internal component cross-talk........ or a irregular shield paint application on the coil.
