who knew? 2 bucket list finds in 1 hour

Went looking for some CW at the surrender camp east of Greensboro.
Hunted a light use farm path at the edge of the property. Using the AT Pro with stock coil. 10 iron disc, full sensitivity, no notch.
Found a nice dropped 3 ringer; good solid 70 +- reading.
Checked out the root wad of an upturned tree in the edge of woods adjacent to the path; got a reading. Strong; 70s.
Dug an old flat button.
Back in the path, got another strong reading. 70s.
Dug a lead seal. Some markings on it but hard to make out the letters. Has a "9" on it, too.
Then got a higher tone in the middle of the path. Low 80s. Dug and found silver. Old silver! First seated Liberty dime for me. 1853.
I had been hunting less than an hour. Then within the next hour I got another higher tone, but somewhat faint. 80s again! Back under some low overhanging branches.
Dug another silver. Old silver! Small old silver. My first capped bust coin; an 1833 half dime.
You know, was a time when the AT Pro was sorta looked on like the Racer is today.
Lots of hype, and a darned good performer!

Thanks for looking.

WoW! Nice finds. I have not yet found a bust coin in my 40+ years of hunting...however I have found a few Reales. Bust is definitely on my bucket list...as well as the elusive gold coin.

You may want to check out the 3 ringer a little further.. the nose is awful spherical...down this way some of the Reb bullets out of the Selma arsenal are shapped like that in the nose...with those low rings...

What a day ...a Capped Bust.. fantastic!!! I know your happy and you should be...Great find!!!... Im happy for you !!

yes the AT-PRO is a Great unit.. very current still...

Thanks for heads up, Keith.
I found this reference:

and my bullet's measurements all conform except weight. Mine is just over 482 grains.
But, you're right, it does look like it.

And thanks, Keith, and everyone else for the very kind remarks!
All of you know days like that don't come along all that often!
