Where can I find a "hot" Vaquero?----Anybody got one you would part with?---------Del

They are all "HOT" technology.............cool smiley
You need to specify hot in highly mineralized soils.
Hot is subjective, some so called hot machines maybe hot in your soils but dogs in our soils.
Can go either way...............
Maybe Keith has one or knows of one to pass his soil tests, then you have a fighting chance to get what your looking for.

Good luck and have fun....................

DeepTech Vista X with 3 search coils.
Works for me

I am assuming you are referring to a metal detector?

"I had a borrowed one for a few weeks.
Wanted to give it another whirl last used it fall of 2005
I returned it sooner than expected due to some mild frustration with its poor depth on open
grassland and very below w average ferrous discrimination.

I'm afraid Tesoro are late to the party as most of the competition are metered machines
with good iron disc and iron audio and V break and so on.

Yeah, I think you're right Des.----Any of the Vaqueros I've had in the past didn't get me very good depth at all, my ground is pretty mineralized though.----Also, it seems that Tesoros have such a wide variance (in depth) on some of their machines--even in air tests.

Del,

I'm hoping they accept our Invitation to our next years party and they present us with
a New offering that does what they did 30 years ago and produce something amazing??

I have a vaquero and it's by far one of the deepest detectors 8 have used. The soil out here in Colorado where I live is so weird though that I have noticed if I happen to ground balance over an alkali patch my depth is for not. I always take my deus with me and check the ground and find a place to ground balance that has no readings on the bar.

Well..mine has been sleeping by the fireplace

If the vaquero is like the tejon, you need to ground balance in disc mode to get max depth.Im usually about a quarter turn negative, from where it balances in all metal. I remember a couple of well respected guys around here telling me the Tejon didnt handle our ground well. Mine is a beast in our ground, definitely is my go to detector right now. I know you said Vaquero, but they are close performers ,right?
