I wonder if it is 2 SIMULTANEOUS frequencies for that price? Seems hard to believe. But two processors, maybe they are on to something.

I haven't used the prior machines, anyone?

you mean the price coming down? $850 would be reasonable for the Deus....

I think he means dual frequency.

If it's 550 euros and $850 USD, that's a hell of a mark up considering that 1 EUR = 1.12567 USD, in this case, 1 EUR = 1.55 USD, quite a premium on the exchange.

Dual for GM5 means one or another.
8 or 18 khz as I good remember.

on ebay from the Bulgarian guy ,he is very reliable ,i bought the stem for my deus ,about 10 days delivery ,via the ebay world service

No I mean the update is free but there maybe a coil involved and that is where they make their money on a machine that has been around we have been able to update it to preform better I think this is going to be a bigger update. I know their coils cost a lot but they have to make money and they do have a sweet machine...

So you can use two different freq. I still like the Deus has anyone tried to use the 4 freq in bad ground you may like the way it handles this way.

Looking forward to the field reports and videos. Looks like a real nice machine. If you want to sell detectors in America you will need a screen. Simple as that. We need our VDI.

Well it looks promising..does is have updates via the internet? What coils does it have, just the 9"? It takes 10 rechargeable AA? Hey Keith you must be about ready to test a new machine? I would love to see Keith test it in the dirt get a tone and have a deus and racer and test the same tone to see what they do. I would do it but for now I'm holding off and buying a new unit. I have my hands full with the racer and deus and the fall is coming the snakes will be leaving and I hunt a lot in about a month in a half. By Nov the snakes are gone and then I can really go crazy on some sites I have been waiting to hit...But you have peaked my interest and I love following a new detector....

They need to start looking at getting some of these new and exciting machines IN THE WATER for us water hunters. It bites we get to choose from a half dozen OLD machines that have proven less likely to get water logged. Seems the news ones we do get have leak problems..... so we go right back to the 200' pressure tested ones THAT WORK. KISS is all we need which should reduce the price of wireless headphones, screens, and such.

It takes 10 AA batteries but 10 AA rechargeables are provided with charger.
Also I'm testing the 10x12 double eliptical SEF coil and the smaller 7" coil along with the standard 9"

Managed to get out with the Golden Mask 5.... So far a damn good machine, punched nice and deep with the standard 9" coil and ran stable in 18 kHz.
Also after adjust for the EMI in the area the 8 kHz settled down nicely.
So far I can say fast deep and coupled with the new VDI spectrum system it makes for some good detecting.

Be good to see what it's like on your side of the pond on some awkward ground and in your parks....

An American now has this GM5..... I've not seen any other across the pond using this machine on film.
