Learned something very interesting about the CL mode on the LTD. When hunting in an area where there are pop bottle lids I've found that CL mode will give the best ID to a bottle cap. Example: After digging a few of these caps that would give a consistent high tone in both DE and BP modes I switched to CL and the VDI suddenly became constant. Sweeping to the right gave a 75 and sweeping back to the left gave a 17. On every sweep the numbers didn't jump all around. CL mode gave a high tone on one sweep and a low sound on the return sweep. Thought this was very interesting to share.
