Hi guys,
i just signed up to this forum and am excited to see what i can learn from all of you. I Ordered the Omega 8000 after reading great reviews on it. When is came it was boxed as the 8k Inside was the 8500 tho. after talking with tech support they told me that they had phased out the 8k and now the 8500 comes in its box. Unfourtunatly im from iowa so i have a couple months left before im able to actually dig more then a quarter inch down.

Welcome to the forum, lifer101! Sorry about you being from Iowa (for more reasons than the cold winters <g>).
Sounds like you are new to detecting. It's a fascinating pastime/hobby/lifestyle/addiction. You'll never look at an old house or building, large field, or construction site the same (as you once did) again.

Yes, Welcome!!

As Wayne said, now when I drive past a field, I either have stories to tell my kids that " that is a really awesome field i found old silver in"....or "that !$ @#$@ & ^@1 *%## !!#@# field has nothing in it after 10 trips smiling smiley

Hey, lifer, welcome. I believe you are going to like the 8500. I had two 8000's and now the 8500 and like it better. Yeah, once you dig that first good target, you will be a hooked gone goose. Its a great hobby, enjoy it and good luck. HH jim tn
