Little Deus hunt down by the river

A little cool today. Those headphones should felt nice over my ears.

These all found in a carpet of nails.

All targets except 2 read 00 on the Deus meter when discovered.

I am very impressed with the Deus' ability in heavy nails.

Nice!.... Silver thimbles?? Some flat buttons 1700's? Flat buttons are a good hint of the times we get excited about...love finding them.

Nice digs! What does the token say on it? I found a brass compact on a CW site with the same picture pressed into the top half. No words on it however. Love the buttons too...Stuart

Andrew Jackson it seems passed right through/ by this site in 1788.

This site area ( county) actually was renamed in the early 1800s to Jackson county in honor of President Andrew Jackson.

This may indeed be the reason for this token/pendant's existence here at this particular site.

I am clearly in over my head on this forum - very non-technical and have only detected for a couple of years. I'll try not to ask too many questions, but do have one based on some of your description above.

I've had my Deus for about a year, and understand about the numbers not necessarily being accurate, but what has been your experience regarding the horseshoe? My assumption has been that anything on the right should be dug, and that anything jumping from left to right is either a combination of metals in a single item (brass button with an iron loop, etc.) or two items close together. Are those reasonable judgements? Do you rely more on tones, readings, or both?

I've recently been using settings you provided on another forum, and they've helped a lot. On my next hunt I'll be dropping the disc, too. I'm looking forward to trying it out. Thanks for your help!

Well if you run 0 disc,,horseshoe won't work.
In 0 disc full tones you are listening strictly for tone--- and the tone you will hear on the heavily masked nonferrous targets,,,, will vary- definitely not textbook.
With some practice in an old area with loads of iron/ nails-- you'll get the feel.
