Cool story and a fitting ending for a nice birthday present! Finding a Walker is great but to then find a 1904 Barber Half...that's super! Then to top it off with a gold coin ring? It don't get much better than that! Good job guys!
BTW...Happy Birthday Chris!

I've tried many different types over the years and liked the Garrett AT carrot but it falsed on me too many times to keep. Since I have a Deus I use the MI-6 with it because I like the ability to hear it through my headphones as most pinpointers are weak in the volume department. The SunRay X-1 was a good pinpointer also due to it's ability to discriminate as well as be heard through

Most definitely the Silver Sabre line. Not the Silver...but the Silver Sabre. They were a lot like the Troy Shadow X2. I guess my all time favorite from that line was the older Silver Sabre Plus with the metal box. On the higher end the Royal Sabre was no slouch either. It had the surface blanker circuit which...believe it or not...came in handy in heavily littered new trash sites. Just my

Ozzie...I live near Victoria, Tx. Lots of Texas history around me...but mostly early history involving the Spanish and Mexican...don't find a lot of Civil War stuff here.

Had a cheap BFO in 1970...can't remember it's name...but officially bought a Bounty Hunter TR 840 after I got out of the military in 1974.

I have most the other accessories for a 2nd unit...extra coils...shafts...WS4...etc. Just need a good used remote if anybody is selling one reasonable. Love the Deus units! Thanks!

Ditto on what sanjuro said. I had one...built like a tank...tough...but the huge footprint made it difficult to use. It certainly does go deep! Probably would work well out in the areas where few signals are found and there wasn't a lot of iron around. Just MHO.

I have the Nox 600 and the 14KHz single frequency Kruzer and tested them both out on the Gulf beaches in Galveston this weekend.
The Nox in Beach 1 & 2 performed very well in the dry and wet sand and was very quiet even in the saltwater. It loves bottle caps though! The balance is better on the Kruzer "S" design...even though the Kruzer is a bit heavier than the Nox. I switche

Would like to swap pinpointers. My F-Pulse PP has been used very little...just would like to try out the MI-4 PP. Let me know if you're interested in an even swap. Thanks!

I've had a few that I really liked that were "vintage"...the Nautilus DMC IIB...Fisher CZ3D...Minelab Explorer II...etc. But my all-time favorite was the Fisher 1266XB with the special "Super 6" coil. That unit was tops IMHO. It was deep and well-balanced with that particular coil.
Now my favorite newer unit is the XP Deus with the round 9" HF coil.
