If it ever comes down to precious metals or nothing the poop will have flown through the fan long before that. The collapse of the economy including food supplies, utilities, fuel, and of course any type of production. Saving precious metals for a top dollar investment is a great decision. Saving precious metals for an end of the world's economy is not.

The Excal is what 35 years old. The problem with the Excal is you need to invest a boat load of money to make it hunting friendly. A shaft, headphones, and an all metal toggle. The tube and vulnerable pot design is antiquated. The battery design and mount is horrible. Yup....time for a new design. Or at least a small water proof box brother.

I'm pretty much out of the hobby. The two best detectors I bonded with and liked the best are the Sovereign and Equinox both of which I still own. I'll be selling the Equinox and keeping the GT just in case I get an itch. But I just spent three days at the beach and the detector never got out of the carry bag.

Long time AFC North fan. Go Bengals. Of course being a Steelers fan all my life I now realize the cheapest tickets available to see them....The Bengals game.....are now way more expensive.

I watch videos all the time on YouTube without adds. The Hoover Boys being one. My other hobbies like Audio equipment reviews and bike riding have many videos without adds. I have no idea on why some are polluted with adds since I don't post videos myself. But it seems like there is a way for it not to be an issue.

Not surprising. Any detector manufacturer that releases a detector in today's world has to realize that this test will be the first thing that people throw at it. Especially if you want 1.5 grand for your detector.

As the EMI changes the noise cancel becomes meaningless. Some EMI is in a relentless change of frequency disruption. Some you never hear. Noise cancel selects the best available channel at the time. I have never seen a claim from manufacturers that it eliminates all EMI. What we as customers want is a detector that mitigates EMI better than the last generation of detectors. Does the Deus II do th

Depth and stability look good. It is the combination of both that make a beach detector. The bottle cap rejection feature when used on the Whites units was a problem for unmasking. Just like using too much iron bias. I wonder if the the French have made it better?

Ill wait for the inevitable comparisons. The Deus II and it's fast recovery speed mean nothing to me. It's all about depth on the beach which is my hunting preference.
I don't mind turning my headphones off.
I don't need 20 feet of water depth.
I still think the wireless coil is silly and an EMI entry point.

An average coil size for most hunting situations. And then they get to sell accessory coils to everyone. But in the case of the Equinox I feel the 11 inch can do it all.

I went out yesterday for a rare dirt hunt. Wife works from home and I was bugging her. I set the Equinox up for cherry picking.
2 tone
Low tone 17 and under
Volume of low tone was 3
Sensitivity 22
Recovery 8
And I hunted a place that I have absolutely pounded over the years. Hundreds of hours just from me. Another hundred from friends.
CTX, Deus, ETrac, XTerra, Explorer have been used

Your ears will tell you. Set it as high as you can until the point of stability becomes a problem. If you start going mad from the chatter back it down.

Demand determines prices. New detectors released decrease demand for older models. As mentioned above....parts will be an issue. Those prices will go up.

Wow....I was kicked out of a forum with a lie from a moderator. I wore it like a badge of honor. You seem to want to cry like a little girl. Move on. Either post there or shut the hell up.

If the Legend has a noise cancel feature like the Equinox does then you are basically dealing with EMI for a very brief period of time. Like a snapshot compared to a movie. Tom has discussed this many times. Many believe that if they don't hear EMI in the headphones there isn't any. That really isn't the reality of what is happening to your detector.

The one place this new Legend will be of interest to many is in the water. Performance is just not as critical. Target separation for all practical purposes is not an issue in the water. And digging a deeper hole in the water I hunt is down right impossible. As already stated....being more reliable in the leak dept should not be a hard goal to obtain. Fine gold and depth in the wet sand. Those ar

Everyone I know wears a fitness tracker. So paying 650 bucks for a detector with a clock makes no sense. Now if the detector counted my steps and monitored my heartbeat I would be into that. I saw on another forum where a guy wanted the CTX for GPS. Yeah my fitness tracker does that too. Will the Legend have better balance and swing better than the Equinox? It darn well should. But wait..I alread

I already own the Equinox. If these new detectors are as good as then I lose nothing. If I was betting man, and I am.....Minelab itself will be the next release. Ill wait and see. These new detectors look great, but the days of me trying them as they are released are over. Retiring on a budget very soon.

There is no way that many holes would be allowed to be dug in any park I ever hunted. I would get booted and signs would go up. Private yards? Not going to happen. The places to dig every signal and actually find enough coins to make it worth while are rare. Really rare.

Ill be using my Sovereign GT on the beach this weekend. The Equinox is staying home. I expect to be forced into the dry sand because of the colder temps. Dry sand equals bottle caps. The Sovereign deals with them so much better.

You still don't get it. Missing Keith has nothing to do with detectors. The best part of this hobby is associating with people and developing an admiration for some of them. Others? Well there I go again.
