With this lockdown I’ve been reading an awfull lot about the MDT 8000.
People are saying it hits other conductors intermingeld with iron below the coil, no problem.
Runs in salt no problem.
Runs in minerals without too much hickups.
How does it handle a steel crown cap?
Just trying to figure out where it might fit in the toolbox.

A lot of thought has gone into audio intelligence, but few detectors actually focus on audio quality.
A full target sound is much more telling than some of those inferior frequency generator scratchy tones.
Just like listening to a live orchestra is much more conveying than playing a compressed digital file on cheap earbuds.
As long as detectors aren’t communicating in real time head up

Went for a walk on the promenade this evening.
3 guys whipping Equinox 800’s on the dry sand, with a nice ridge formed from todays windy weather. Go figure??
During summer I just take in the views and walk the dog. Always have my Garmin wrist GPS on.
Can’t be bothered competing with the crowd for the daily left-over coins.
Just hit the waypoint button and save.
Come fall and bad weather,

My CZ-6A is currently residing under an Anderson straight shaft. And it just quietly goes about it’s business untill something good
comes along. Concentric coil and multifrequency,... Genious.
Last hunt before fishing season starts 1 June I’m swinging a Classic. Enjoying the scenery and digging a few keepers. Then it’s Fishing till winter kicks in.
Had a Nox 800, sold it to get some fishin

The third picture is most telling how I like the second strap to sit.
Full motion of my fingers and thumb. No need to grip the handle more than needed.
Attach the bungee to the strap and the detector becomes in essence weightless.

I'll try and take a half decent pic of it this evening.
The second strap is also the ideal attachment point for a bungee or a harness. The detector just hangs of it.
I've been racking my brain for a long time why I could easily swing a heavy Stihl brushcutter all day,... and yet a tiny detector weighing peanuts would burn up my arm.
Very sad ergonomics on just about every detector

All the detectors provide a handgrip and an armcuff. Unless I’m built different than everyone else.
The armcuffs how ever thight I strap them on tend to slip, so you grip the handgrip tighter.
Straining the muscles in your arm.
A second strap right above my wrist, pushes my hand onto the grip and lets me pick up the detector without even using my grip.
The underside of the strap is locate

Nothing wrong with the Nox,... I'm just craved a modern Excalibur.
Hunt in all Metal, flip the switch, disc provides more info.
But again,... that's just me,... and sometimes I'm pretty akward.
Or Backwards like the other half persists ;-)

Since Equinox the rest is worth peanuts.
As I’m out of detecting for the moment sold 2 nox units which didn’t take a blink of an eye.
But kept the rest.
The Nox in disc goes BEEP at you and finds small gold at the beach.
Great unit but aren’t we kidding ourselves just that little bit :-)
X-terra 705 has gold mode with selectable frequency due to coil change. Freaky deep in dry sand.

After very carefull consideration, several days of reading threads, several of my own time consuming replies, babies crying and adults who can’t read manuals.
Just goes to show you.
Those manufacturers will just about sell to anybody :-)
Thank God and Oh My God at the same time.

My Stepdaughter has had problems with depression since her teens as well.
At the moment in her early thirthies.
Broken household, overweight, problems at school, problems with first boyfriend, addicted to pain killers and cannabis.
Got pregnant, got away from boyfriend and back home at 30 with toddler.
As a newly formed family we’ve been to Hell and back.
But you simply stick at it, ge

I stand fast in my opinion.
Someone who insults my wife for being ugly or the kids for being stupid,... isn’t going to have me to deal with.
The are going to be glad I’m in the vicinity to call the dogs off.

Tesoro’s are old tech,... period. And well they probably have some problems at the factory right now.
But it is a metal detector that detects metal and needs a qualified tech to help it achieve its goal.
Somebody needs to fix it.

A 20 kHz machine is great for a first run a micro jewelry.
It will pick up some coins on edge as well.
Haven’t used the Deus for this kind of hunting.
But the machine to have is a Cult Classic called the Goldbug 2 from Fisher.
Simply because it uses a concentric coil and has great simple Flick of the switch Iron Disc.
I’ve even used it in a park setting listening for faint whispers and pas

If the sand has any kind of dampness what so ever,... any sifter is a no go situation.
As detectorists we like to know what we dig,... however micro jewelry hunting is a different ballgame all together.
You are digging minute pieces of foil and very small pieces of non ferrous.
Set your detector, narrow the target down into a spoonfull of sand, dump into the finds bag.
Buy a Fisher gold pan

What is there not to like about an MXT.
Had one for a while, really enjoyed using it. And I lent it out to my step-daughter, fitted it with an eliptical coil. She uses it to hunt the dry sand in summer.
Simple instructions,... use the presets :-)
For some reason or other I haven't seen it back. Especially after that first ring she dug.
If only a lot of machines could sound like an

I guess you’re living in a free country, so you’ve got every wright to clean the beach.
And seeing how the water was nice and frisky, I wouldn’t expect the old hag to walk up to you to complain.
This morning I was at the beach and there was a bit more people out there because of the school holidays.
So a few family’s enjoying a walk at the beach.

The problem is the Beep on a PI unit.
You buy a PI because you want to go deep or simply cut through the salt. Most people want deep because the other multi frequency units catch the surface targets.
Depth needs a stable non intrusive threshold and you need to be able to hear the ground so you can keep that coil under control.
The threshold needs to be an adjustable tone, because some days

I discovered 24 hour ration packs from the British Army this year.
Don’t go all “weirdo” on me because this stuff is low cost ingredients, but very high quality preparation and packaging.
You can eat it cold or in a camping situation heat it up for some extra “moral” boost.
Easily digestible, gives you a real energy boost and contains just the wright amount of slow carbs to keep you going.

If you’re looking for a workhorse UTV.
Then get one of those John Deere 3 cilinder gasoline gators.
Has a suspension that is doable when unloaded, great when loaded.
A tranny geared to hauling stuff and a trailer if need be.
A chassis that can get stuck and survives being pulled out of the mud.
Beafier electrics and a mechanically activated rear difflock. The electric ones tend to seize up w

The Nox being the new hot and tasty flavour has the upperhand and the CTX is the one we just love to hate.

But give me an extra low spring tide with an offshore wind pushing the water even further out.
