If that avenue doesn't pan out, I once tried fooling around with the internal pot on a GBP... I was able to increase air tests on coins by 4" easy... but way too chatty, unusable except to drive you crazy. This pot also seemed to change ground balance and ID of coins (both lower). I believe from memory, a penny hit at 76 stock... my final end point was getting a penny to register 74 and

Volume is directly related to ohm value of your headphones... as a long time F19 user, I can guarantee with a 32 ohm headphone you'd need to be nearly deaf to not have enough volume with the 14 camo model (I believe I run at 7 volume, and it's loud). But, if you're using something like 250 ohm or even 600 ohm headphones, your volume would be quite low, too low... I suspect they boo

I was thinking Notka could offer the standard firmware v1.08...
But also offer hunt specific versions that are expanded to tailor to specific style of hunt and available on their website for changing anytime.
So if you're a coin hunter only, features are expanded for that style of hunting only... more tones, whatever...
Relic... same thing,
Salt... same
Gold... same
Maybe more... &q

This hand-forged RR chain binder (for holding down logs in this case) is one of my favorite iron finds... guessing made/used/lost 1895-1915.

Just received a PPII... First observations are lanyard eye, more sensitive than original (guessing 10-15%). LED is much brighter, easily twice or triple as bright or more... so now usable light in a dark hole! Rubber button is redesigned sturdier, and believe they fixed the falseing issue some were having, by better insulating internals. My original PP is a well used five plus years old, only fal

I bought myself a present that arrived the 24th... so went out in woods on 25th for 4+ hours to try them out. Haglofs Rugged Mountain pants! Wow, what a difference compared to jeans... Besides being a super tough material that's water resistant, they have panels in the knee and behind that stretch. There was a few inches snow in the clear areas, so it was a good test. I had 100% poly fleece

Hi all... I found this button yesterday in Washington State... Now I've seen you guys find many buttons of similar style down South over the years, but the kind I usually find are nothing like this. My research tells me this style logo was made 1860-1880. That's the Indiana State Seal on the front. I'ts around 7/8" across. I also know an early family came to this area from Ind

I found this little boot gun some months ago in an 1890-1920 inhabited area (now all woods). Anyone know who made this rim fire .22? Local guy told me probably from around 1910... Startled me a bit when I dug it... found barrels and parts in past, but first time for a complete gun for me. Was a rust case, but knew what it was... then used electrolisis.

Thanks for the info all... I figured it had probably been tried long ago and surely someone here would know! Then again, something like Notka's vibrating handle... seems like someone would have thought of that years ago... thus why I spoke up rather than my usual lurking :-)

Was just thinking... my understanding is that the "send" signal is regulated to a certain power in US and uses alot of power to increase anyway... could it be beneficial to have an aftermarket "booster" send or send/receive amplifier that you plug in between head and coil that has it's own power supply? Maybe there's something already out there like this, I don'

Free upgrades like Dues have is awesome! They may be getting my $'s too... Paid upgrades via USB might be acceptable, if they have merit. Any top model without USB for upgrades is unacceptable (in this day and age) and will not see $'s from me.

Nothing wrong with early release if there's a USB port to upgrade firmware/software... and in this day and age, all top tier models should have this feature IMO. Throwing a bone or two for a not so distant release is good too... builds anticipation.

In WA state, we'd call the bigger one a 3 point.. though if the eye guards are both over an inch, it would be an official 4 point. Funny how different parts of the Country use different terms... I had a 6x5 in my backyard.. with the eye guards he's a 13 point in your part of country... crazy :-) Good eating to you!

Just dug an 8-9" on angle dime stock coil missed, so happy with that. Too bad it was 1966.
Deeper targets with no noticeable weight gain was the goal (so far so good) for this coil, with hope of at least matching performance to stock for shallower targets (yet to be determined).

Dug the "suspects" before reading the above... if the stock coil had given me these readings/clues, I really believe they would have been coins from past experience (nickel and penny)... However, this new coil is speaking a different language, which I will have to learn (they weren't coins). Still kind of interesting though, as the one I thought was a nickel had a rusty chair sprin

I shoud share this, as it's so easy it's probably been overlooked by most.
The main focus of this mod is to attach a "lobster clasp" to the headphone cord, then clip it to your belt loop. This way when you bend down, the cord stays against your body and out of the way.
You can find them on ebay, or elsewhere near to you. I use one big enough that's easy to open with

TTF tone break at 17 is missing good targets if you ignore low tones...
After realizing TTF was not cutting it, I now use "OTF".... Set at ONE tone and black out line 28 through 35 (deep off, fast on, manual high as feasible for the spot, low number noise cancel).
Lines 27 and up all sound off with tone, below that nulls. Dig all good tones... Boring? Doesn't bother me a bit

Received today for my E-trac... took 30 days to arrive to USA. Was the anticipation worth it?...
Only had around 15 minutes of light left once mounted on spare shaft. Took my E-trac stock 11" out to my test garden area first. Have assorted depths of nickels and dimes at 2-4-6-8-10" (buried approx. 15 months ago). Some are in clean ground, others in a more typical hunting trash dirt.
