Steve- Yes this is one my personal units, actually my first, I bought Spring 2019
Dew - Yes, this unit is FULLY waterproof, and even more so than than the 1st version as the whole battery completely different.
Dimitar added this mod for me last summer for his R&D. As stated, I tested it extensively in the water, it does NOT leak. I cannot comment on when and if this new mod will come out.

Here is a great article written by Teresa aka (Coilpower) on the Tarsacci Forum I thought I’d share....
Tarsacci MDT 8000 Precis and Methodology for new users.
Having used the Tarsacci MDT8000 for relic, mud, water, beach and black iron sands since the beginning of 2019, this article is aimed at new users and as an optional refresher for others including myself.

Modified Tarsacci MDT 8000. Original owner, serial #0000024. Purchased May 2019. Excellent condition, includes 2 batteries, charger, headphones, new coil cover and backpack. This unit was modified by the manufacturer (Dimitar Gargov). This unit has the battery compartment that is basically very similar to a MAGLIGHT flashlight with double O-ring seals. The cap fits EXTREMELY snug over the O-rings

The factory (transferable) warranty is 18 months. Dimitar has been really good about honoring warranty work. I haven’t heard of any machines needing it out of warranty and it’s been out for 2 years. The Tarsacci is really good about holding its value. I haven’t seen a used one under $1k

That’s quite a comeback, I’d never guess from all those finds the beach was getting pounded. Congrats on that chunk of yellow metal and silver!

Thanks Tom. Yes I had a feeling they are real stones too. The clasp was not in the locked position, however it was still closed enough to complete the circle. I screwed up the editing, that was obviously not a 25 VDI signal, it’s definitely in the foil range.

Honestly, I hunted w the Equinox all last summer in the lake and never had a problem w it. I actually think it’s a great water machine.

Dew, I imagine it’s quite challenging to say the least to apply enough pressure to that scoop to bite into that sand while fighting buoyancy!

I’m definitely handicapped in this location, however the MDT still manages to perform in my EMI saturated environment, when the Equinox at best can run at 17 without sounding like a Geiger counter!
Thanks!

This question has been raised here and at another forum lately...”can the salinity balance be turned to eliminate coke & foil at the same time?” Please watch the video and see for yourself.....
Thanks!
