Tom, as you can tell I came in yesterday very discouraged. After re-reading the user manual, I have realized some operator problems. #1...you must be in open screen to here the FE tones..(I think you have stated that but it didn't register)I didn't have any discrimination (I thought that was an open screen but no that's not what you were talking about...you must have the horseshoe p

Well...I've calmed down some,so, I'll try again tomorrow...98% chance of operator error...I hope it is...I'll come back and apologize to all...I've eat crow before, but right now I'm not seeing it in my bad soil.Maybe tomorrow will be that "moment when the light turns on". Still got some HOPE.If in this life only we have HOPE....1 Corinthians 15:19

Three afternoons with the manticort.12 hours, and I can't sugar coat it.It may be the best beach detector ever made.In a trashy park it may separate all the clad from rusty nails down to 5 or 6 inches. But in my highly mineralized soil!!! I'm DISGUSTED.I have two 30 year old detectors that will dig rusty nails as good and deeper.Sorry but the CZ3D is one of them.I've loved using my E

WISH MINELAB WOULD ADD AUTO SENSITIVITY + ! thru 5.After 8 hours on the manticort, it's harder for me to tell when I'm over driving the detector as compared to my CTX3030.I can take the sensitivity all the way to 35 without overloading my ears and brain.I keep adjusting sensitivity from 20 to 35 trying to find what is best for my hearing.I think that I need to be hearing some EMI but no

On Steve Herschbach Detector Prospector forum,Rick in MI. has a post referring to Calabash's video if anyone wants to read about it.The post is titled: "Manticore: Why Is It Hitting High Tones On Small Iron In Calabash's Hunt?" After thinking about it some more,it could be that the minimum pitch setting is set high enough to cause to high tone.

I think it will be more likely to false using a small rusty iron (nail or whatever) in DEPTH audio with RICH profile. But try the test in SIMPLE,MEDIUM and RICH..Thanks,Tom
tnsharpshooter: I'm pretty sure it was Calabash but I've watched a lot of your videos too.Anyway,I'm looking forward to using this DEPTH audio in my bad soil.I want to skip the clad like the guy at NWGA was do

Tom,in one of Calabash's podcast (over an hour long) last week,he was in depth audio, not sure if simple, medium or rich profile.I think he was in AT low or high conductors. After adjusting upper FE limit up and down, he was getting a high tone on shallow rusty nail.He was stating that in other modes the iron discrimination worked good but in this mode minelab may have something wrong.I'm

Tom or anyone that wants to help,I think there is a lot of confusion concerning audio themes (DEPTH). Am I wrong? My take is that all search modes except GOLD use FE/Conductance discrimination for both 2D visual and audio. GOLD mode is per-configured to use (DEPTH) audio. If I understand the user manual correctly, in audio theme (DEPTH) the audio discriminates off of target size. You can adjust th

Is this a true statement? We are trying to achieve a combination of settings that when circling 360 deg., we get 60% non FE tones and 40% FE tones, chance of a good non FE target is above 50% ?Then, if we go to 70%/30% even better chance of a good target? Is Tom saying that he spends about 15 minutes figuring this out? Probably take longer for most of us but once achieved then note settings for th

Any help from anyone is appreciated. Thanks steveg for your input.I guess what I'm asking in a more simple way is,if we learn to use the manticort, learn the audio and 2D nuances, will our FE to non-FE ratio on target digs come down? That answer should be "YES" comparing a $1000 to $1600 machine. Then with this more modern hardware and software and price, how much better will my iron/

Tom, Now that a few videos are starting to get out using the manticort,it appears that the manticort is somewhat better than the nox at determining FE from non-FE.However it looks to me that an inexperienced user would still dig lots of iron. But,you are an experienced user. Can you put a gauge, %, number on how much better the manticort is over the nox at determining FE from non-FE targets when a

Tom, in the latest video the engineer stated that the MC would equal the CTX on silver in inert soil. My question is,how will the MC as compared to the CTX do in my bad Alabama soil?I don't think you've tested inland yet but maybe one of the other testers can help. Thanks, BamaJoe

Wish it had two products like the EQU. 600 and 800. With Manticore I as is and Manticore II having "AUTO SENSITIVITY" and a "PINPOINTER" that uses detector discriminator. $1500 for I and $1800 for II...See what you can do Tom.

After doing some reading, it looks like there is no "auto sensitivity". Looks as though "target trace" is the #2 item that Tom isn't ready to talk about just yet....If it can tell me that I have a nail and a coin at beyond 7" in my bad soil, then put me on the order list.

I have a question for those that have a Tarsacci. How much deeper is the Tarsacci on a dime than the best VLF unit that you have used? Apply as apple's to apple's a signal that you would dig. (1) What VLF detector are you comparing with? (2) What level mineralization Low, Medium or High? (3) How the Tarsacci compares to your VLF, either - or + inches. I'm an inland coin and relic h
