Besides the ATD(Analog To Digital) having manual ground balance, it also had two non motion modes, All Metal, and disc mode. It also had two motion modes, All metal and disc.
Don’t believe that was on any other of his detectors. No ground balance on any R&C detectors or the Northstar ,neither on the Coin Select. The VLF-710 is no slouch but the ATD was his best.

Hi Harold, on max disc setting on Coin Select you cancell all clad coins, plus just about everything else. It will still pick up silver, won’t pick up a Canadian silver dime at that setting but will get a U.S. silver dime but not at any depth, where a silver quarter it will pick up at good depth. I’m pretty sure the R&C detectors can do the same, I’ll have to try that out. I get the same with

Nice to hear that the Wilson still holds an interest in people. The ATD in the best unit he made, I also have two VLF-710’s proto types, R&CII, R&CIII, two R&C IV’s, and two Coin Selects.
I like them all, they all work good, still one of my favourite beep and dig detectors. Hope the coil works for you and that you get get some use out of it.

Sorry to hear your downsizing,I like collecting dectectors as much as I

The Compass Gold Scanner came out in 1987,weights 3lbs 12ozs.with 3 9v batteries.Gold Scanner Pro maybe came out same year.Difference was the meter with the Pro.Meter is spot on,all Compass Scanners that had meters were right on.Both Gold Scanners has manual ground balance, the other scanners didnot. Most Compass detectors are good in iron, the older Compass TR detectors were pretty good in iron,no

My 50+ detectors keeps me working at 65 to support their battery addiction.I use Cs,AAs, and 9Vs.Now I get them thru a electrian friend but still cost about $80 a crack total for a box of each, thats a few times a year for a few years , plus all the others years buying at stores for the last 35 years(not for all 50).My Deus I got at least 4 years ago used.Never had to change the battery yet in hea

If I wanted to trade I would have said so,I said not giving up on it, but to me the Garrett is better to use.I have 3 Garrett pinpionters,1 pistol probe pointer and the Makro, will be getting the new Garrett when it comes out.

Hi Steve,I wasn't after your Deus just being fastuous,I have a Deus.Just people jumpimg on a bandwagon that hasen't been playing too long.Still has a cable on the Racer so to me Notka still has a way to go.They really have to do something with that off switch on their pinpointer, and their vibration mode which isn't silent( I assume vibration mode means silent search).

I got the Makro mainly for the vibration mode so I could search in silence.I dig 100+ targets each outing. When I'm useing it in vibration mode turning it on and off its 700 beeps, whats the point of silent search, throw that out the window.WHILE in vib. mode, on and off switch should be in vib mode also. Also virbrates off in vib mode whenever pointed upward.I like all the other features,is sor

Got one Xmas Eve and it is alright, will take some getting use to.First think they could lose the carrying case and strap, nice but....,In vibration mode vibrates in hole and can't tell which direction to head, with audio can tell immeditatly where to go,that will take some pratice. The onoff switch should be like turning on the light switch, click on click off, holding for a couple of seconds

I got my Deus over 4 years ago in a trade with a fellow in England, 1.2 version,it wouldn't hold a charge 24 hrs.,I didn't care because I charge my cell phone everyday, and the Deus was finding silver in ground I've searced for 15 years. This year I sent it off to XP in France, and for $100 they go over it,fixed the problem and got it back like a new unit, lost the programs I had but

I have all 3 coils, like using the 13 & 11" coils, just as sensitive as the 9" but covers way more ground. If I come across a hot spot in a park then I'll take the 9" and go over slow. I'm 65 and have no problem swinging the 13" or 11" coil. I live on the west coast of Canada and it's wet all the time, heavy dew in fall and winter and lots of rain, no p

well Arthur first you have to understand once you turn on the Deus you have 10 factory programs which is 10 defferent detectors, then XP gives you 8 more slots for 8 more programs which is 8 more detectors,so each time you step thru the door to do whatever detecting your going to do you have 18 detectors in your hand, which weights a little more than a pound.I can wrap around with that .
