Great machine. Haven't seen another machine that can beat it for unmasking targets in iron. However, most of the sites I hunt aren't just iron, a lot of them are covered with the rusted tin chunks & pieces, and that creates a headache for any machine. If it was only iron it would be easy. To me, the Relic tends to like the rusted tin and throws off a lot of good signals audio wise (

Ya Monte's my hero......most the time. Excepting those days we are out detecting together and he gets a nice old silver and a trade token and such. And all I have to show for the day is a chunk of busted up harmonica reed. On those days that he gives me a thrash'n I have to remind him. I say " Darn'it Monte there y'all go again, y'all crossed that line and it ain

Tom I agree, the outings have always been fun, meet people and a chance to find some old goodies. If Hombre comes I'll have to keep him and Monte separated. LOL they do more talking and detector horse-trading than they do detecting

There will at least be a couple of WTHO ( Welcome To Hunt Outings) this year. Anyone is more than welcome to come and join us. All the past outings have been really fun, chance to meet people and do some detecting with a chance to find some goodies. If your not on Monte's Outing list, contact him and ask to be put on the list so you can receive updates. Here is a cut and paste from Montes la

I just figured the ORX name was derived from "Oreck" as in Oreck Vacuum Cleaners. Guessing this puppy will suck all the coins/gold right outta the ground. Is this the machine for 2019 that will make everything else "obsolete"?

Del, I think Hombre might have a "new" favorite machine after him and Monte got done doin some horse trade'n. I think he might have a MX5+2 now. I tried calling him the other day to see how the trip home from the outing was...but went to voicemail.....I talked to Hombre quite a few times on the phone, was fun to finally meet him and put a face to the name.

LOL I get 1840 seated dime so ya gotta run out and get a 1838............you were getting really really close to bust territory. Can't remember the last year of the Capped Bust, 1836 or 37. Detail is sure nice on that one. Mine was getting pretty slick.

Ya Kickindirt is right about the coils.
Also, Monte demonstrated this on an outing several years ago. Ya wanna kill a Tesoro in iron, just throw a DD coil on it.

Lots of nice MXT All Pros popping up. Contact Monte, he has a Pristine MXT All Pro that you could prob get for $450 shipped with the excellent 9" spider coil. I wanted to get it but I already have an original MXT.

Use a good mid-size coil unless the amount of iron/rusted tin trash says otherwise, then I would opt for the 5". Hit the obvious areas that have the best chance of producing a coin or neat artifact. But most important, even under a time restraint, use a nice slower methodical sweep. Don't try to rush your search by trying to cover as much ground as possible which leads to swinging the c

I don't understand why people think that when a new machine comes out, everything else becomes obsolete. I still use the Red Racer for a good deal of my hunting and have had great success with it. With the Racer 2, it gave me a few features that I really wanted, tone break and iron audio. Both are simple to use and set up and they offer all I need or want.

Ya Cal Cobra keep up the good work and videos you do. Apparently, GM is a bit clueless in the way of things. Nokta dropped the price of the Fors Core way back when, and when the Racer 2 launched, they lowered the price of the original Racer to $499 and $649. They discontinued the original Racer and lowered the Racer 2 to the same price slot $499 and $649. I hardly doubt that ML had anything to do

I agree 100%, the MXT, taken care of will last for many years and give great performance, the equinox, well I guess if you can squeeze 5 years out of it from the looks of things I guess you're lucky.Guess Detectors are going the way of cell phones. Spend a $800- $1000 use it for several years then toss it. I guess if you are a metal detecting manufacturer, you can no longer afford to build m

One of the best coils they have made for several of their machines. It's kinda one of those coils that can handle a good deal iron/trash, give some coverage and still bring home the goods
