Chris,
I've still got my Atrex but have not run it as much as my Minelab or my Nokta. Limited hunting time allows for less "learning" minutes.
Keep us posted on your Versa.
Personally, I love the EMI preview and the mixed mode audio of my Rutus.

Never seen a company like this.
I agree, but to me it's refreshing. Not annoying at all.

Because the Vanquishes are not their "targets".
The white coats should also be comparing the xterra to the pro-finds too.

This has got to be one of the most ironic statements ever made.

Selfishly, I absolutely would love Keith's unbiased, honest, and thorough evaluation. If he has the time and the interest to do so.
I absorbed everything I could from you both on the Impact a few years ago.

A Manticore has the head of a man, body of a lion, and the tail of a scorpion.
My bet is they chose this name because the detector blends 3 technologies.
Multi IQ, FBS, and another tech. Maybe BBS.

Tom,
Have you seen the EMI preview screen on the Rutus Atrex?
You move through your frequencies while watching the graph to see where the least amount of emi is occurring.
What are your thoughts on it?

There are so many tricks the Impact can do that many other detectors can not.
Combining various coils sizes, frequencies, and 12 different modes the Impact is more versatile than my Equinox 600.
There's even a way to set it up to low tone on shallow iron signals, but high tone on targets at fringe depths.
How many sites do you you have where you want to ignore shallow iron and only

He surrounds himself with people that stroke his ego and kowtow to him. That's why

There are plenty of other places on the net for them.
This forum is different and the content stands out from the rest.

Dang, wish I would have seen it!
I have an Impact and an Equinox 600, and I would have loved to buy another Impact as a backup.
Love, love, love that detector.

Like clockwork, almost to a point of compulsion.
Nokta/Makro lives in ghounds head rent free.
He just can't help himself. LOL

Just because it's SMF doesn't mean it's the same.
In a couple years we'll know more about what's in XP, Nokta Makro, Garrett, and Minelab's SMF secret sauce.
Then we can really dissect and compare their recipes.
I speculate they're all differently engineered and therefore will beat each other in very specific, identifiable, and measurable situations.

I love this site!!!
We need more of these posts.
I try to ignore the noise of some of the chest thumpers. The stuff in these types of posts is the goods.

If a detector is uncomfortable to swing, or not pleasant to listen to, it's not enjoyable to use for me.
This hobby is all about enjoyment for me.

I still have my Impact and love it.
Have the little football 7.5"x4", the 7" concentric, and the 13" MARS Discovery.
It has flagship performance and I prefer the audio over my Equinox's audio.
