He has a working detector. The perceived volume problem is not your issue.
The coil cover, who cares.
If it has a broken cuff maybe a little refund toward a replacement. Other than that, I would consider this deal completed.

Count me in too. Beach General was the worst mode we tested on fringe gold.

We found in in deep testing that sand and surf was good on gold. In theory, this should be your weakest mode for gold. We have Black Sand where I hunt.
So make sure to test some fringe gold and see what modes works the best on the beaches you are looking on.
The Manticore is a chain killer too!!!

I agree on your advice Tom. Coil control in and around salt water is so important. The Minelab platform is one that is sensitivity driven. The higher you can run it the better depth you will achieve.
I hope you and more importantly, YOUR READERS understand they will NEVER be able to get the performance you stated, unless they are standing next to you.

I guess it depends what mode you work in? If you work with the Horseshoe mode on, then you are able to tell fringe targets. In Discrimination mode, not so much.

I think you are overreacting. Your unit is the only one I have heard of going down. There is NOTHING wrong with Minelab warranty.

Not for coughing up a Bobby Pin .
However, I am very unimpressed with the use in Black Sand and am still struggling at the crappy idenification and the way fringe targets sound.

I have a solid 20% hearing loss in one ear. On the Equinox and D2 no issues.
