Tony Eisenhower now does makes impedance matched headphones that does provide more volume than his regular headphones. Which is needed on the Manticore for ocean water hunting. Hopefully Minelab will do an update to provide more audio volume. The Equinox 800 has more audio volume then the Manticore.

The main thing I want is more depth when used to hunt in the ocean. Here in Honolulu, Hawaii we have to reduce the sensitivity down to 15 for hunting in the ocean. But on wet or dry sand, we can operate from 22 to 24 depending on location. Yes, I could use a PI in the ocean water but you get tired of digging iron targets.

Rick,
Thanks for being back good memories! I will have to see if I still have pictures of those finds. A bad virus wiped out so much stuff on my computer before I learned my lesson and started backing up on line. Bottom line, I am so waiting for the Fisher Impulse AQ to use. Because many of the Aquastar mechanical problems are solved by the Fisher Impulse AQ design. Such as coil cable failu

Rick,
Mahalo for bring back old memories. The large Hawaiian 14K gold bracelet was a fresh drop and it gave such a big signal. I though it was a coke can. Recently with my Equinox 800, I dug up my first platinum tooth crown. I have no idea how many gold tooth crowns I have found. But gold is gold. So looking forward to getting a Manta to use. I know where I will be using the Manta the

The Aquastar used a 16 volts battery and there was a 430 volts pulse to the coil. Since the Manta is based on the Aquastar. It is very possible the Manta is using 16 volts battery too. And perhaps the Manta has even more voltage going to the coil. I tested the Aquastar prototype and was able to recommend improvements that made it a better unit. I sure would like to use my experience and know

Having used the Aquastar, starting with the first prototype and knowing that the Manta is deeper and more sensitive. I would be happy to pay as much as $3,000.00 for it.

LE.JAG,
You said the following.
= two things to remember
in iron rejection mode
we lose 24 k / signature too close conductivity of iron // 22k and under no problem.
Over here we can find 100% pure platinum rings. Would 100% pure platinum rings act like 24K gold in the iron rejection mode?
The more you tell me about the Manta, the more I want it!

LE.JAG, Sorry that I misunderstood. Now I understand better what the goals are in designing the Manta. The volcano is on what we local people call the big island. I live on Oahu which more the 300 miles from the active volcano. Here on this island is one place that I would be happy to take you to that has targets including gold rings more then 15 inches deep. Steve Herschbach has said that

LE.JAG ,
A little of my history, Eric Foster send me the first Aquastar to test and debug in Hawaii. After we got it working fairly good. I dug 107 pieces of gold and platinum jewelry in 6 1/2 months. If the Manta is shipped with a 12 inch coil, yes then limited the delay to 15 us. But in my case, I am willing to pay an extra $!,000.00 for a center mount 10 inch that will operate at 10 us wit

Has the Manta been tested in the ocean with the coil more then 3 feet deep below the surface of the ocean water? And if yes, was it able to operated at 7 us at that time?

A very thin white gold ring or for that matter, a very thin yellow gold ring can give you a broken sound on a CTX. I think most people would not stop to investigate to find out what gave you that sound. But due to the fact that I have a bad hearing problem, I am very dependence on the TID meter to help me decide if to go after the target. So far my lightest thin white gold ring weight is 1.3 g
